First day with vanmount setup, aaaaahhhhhh

WCF

Help Support WCF:

getting van set-up again after leaks sorted, floor must be covered, wont be painting floors till spring, got lino down for now, learning where to place items for easier access, going to insulate pump+ controller with some foam/pollystyrene i found in a box while walking dog outside electrical outlet, just box them in, then put wire cables through the 8mm minibore hose as an insulation, cover water pipes with the foam insulation you get on your home copper pipes.

I will still use backpack but will always have water for bigger jobs,

if you get the storage right in your van , it makes life easier/

im going to put measure marks on the hose, i will then learn roughly how much hose i will need to reel out for certain street jobs, save keep going back to van to get more hose if restricted by cars etc.,

also to pull via the reel hose, not my pole hose pulling the reel hose.

350 litre tank / but atm only using around 150 litres untill i gradually start to do the bottoms. gradually i will clean customers bottoms, having mainly cleaned tops on 70% atm. ill have to educate them explaining frame work will be cleaned as well, they will be pleased to think they are getting an extra service for free.

need to sort oul a gutter pipe or similar for my pole to keep off the floor.

too long thinking Negative.

There are more Possitive aspects of Vanmount Set-up

I've been debating this to myself for a month or so now. Think I may just continue with trad and get a trolley, that way I can buy a better/newer van (thinking of a Nissan NV200)
Plus I can then spend more time insulating and waterproofing the van myself ready for a van mount.
Ive got a nissan nv200 as a 7 seater car, but its a van, even tho its a car:rofl:. They are quite big inside, but small outside. In my area we have a lot of speed ramps and the back doesnt have flyup and down, seemingly better with weight in the back- wfp tank. Small tyres on them so cheap for new ones. Wouldnt recommend as a 7 seater car tho, as not that refined, my wife hates it not having arm rests, as when going round corners aaaaaarrrrgghhhhhh

@windowsurfer

I know what you mean, a local windie to me that iv'e come to know over the last few years also has the NV200 and it was like looking at a tardis lol. The inside definitely looks bigger than the outside.

I have been using wfp for 2 years now. Almost finished installing the 2 man setup today. Already had the pump and reel so installed the controller and wired it in today and tested it. Now need half crimp clips to finish

Unless you have a good compact round van mounts seem pointless watched a window cleaner pull up with a van mount system, pulled all his hose out started Cleaning the Windows as he finished the front I went to the next house. He was still there I went to my next house he was just reeling it. By the time he had done that i was about half through my 3rd house, he drove 6 houses down and had to do all again. After this post I'm thinking that guy needs a trolley! Losing money or what? Apparently his cheaper then me /emoticons/unsure.png won't last long aha.

its all to do with safety also, i climed ladders for almost 20 years, when your young your like a monkey, no fear and fast, as you get 50+ you start to hear about fatalities involving ladder work accidents.

yor safety is paramount, especially in wind and gales, at least you can get your work done in these weathers with wfp set-up. i have a van mount but also use a trolley system.

my aim is to get larger properties to work on, this is my aim for getting a van set-up..

i know its easier to work from a trolley system, backpack. it is a lot quicker especially doing backs.

Have to disagree Josh. Why would he reel 'all' his hose out, all 100M? With WFP, you make time 'on the glass'. This guy obviously isn't very good at it.

I dissagre @Joshua D as wfp guys can earn a good days wack using a van without risking life or limb. Trad is for ppl that like to graft and don't want to earn decent money working safely

it showed them on the programme about spiders, they set a house up on the tv showing all the different types of spiders, and how they survive with human living.

catch it on iplayer. it showed how a spider survives being flushed down the bath or bog, they survive and come out the other end unscathed by the ammount of water. totally repell the water .

here endeth the lesson on Aracnids.

Not using hot water and chems they don't seem to recover /emoticons/sad.png... Oops! /emoticons/biggrin.png

I think the spiders on our rounds love us. And they are thriving.

When we arrive it's spiders bin day. We clean out all the old webs and flush out the rubbish from the gap between the window frame and the cill. A Spring clean every 6 weeks.

We remove the nests from the corners but they survive the winter are there in abundance in Spring.

I don't get many come back using hot water & chems but they certainly can be resilient little critters
