Fitting a tank tap

There must be some sort of long reach tool, or something that you can put together with a pair of vice grips and a pole. The nut goes on the inside, the threaded fitting and tape are inserted from outside. So you just need to hold the nut in place long enough till you get it slightly tight. The nut should grip well enough to tighten the rest fully from the outside surely.
If you are worried about getting it tight, and the tap positioned right, don't fit the tap directly. I.e. mine exit has a straight piece out of the tank ending in a screw thread, and the tap is screwed onto that

I've had a look round carnt seem to find a lond reach tool anywhere!

Must be easier solution to fit a second tap

Anyone got a plumbers num lol

Confusion everywhere. I'm not using two usernames. i might have to call a plumber lol.

They should seriously have put a valve on the tank to at least be able to drain it, i'm a bit annoyed with that. I can only drain it when the tank is actually filling and i turn the red handle. Just to add to the confusion.

Where in the same boat pal!!

I've seen a tank on eBay that goes over rear wheel arch thinks it's about £70 it might be easier for me to get that and use it just for my back and trolley

Would sooner just get a second tap though,I'm guna nip plumb centre to,or surely there's a connected out there with 2 taps

Bloody predictive making me look like I carnt spell

yes, you'd use these taps as taps. Out of my tank I split twice, once so I can fill a bucket when I need to use that old fashioned method ;-) and then I split again before it goes into the hose reel, and that split acts as a bypass to run back into the tank.

When I wind in the hose, I open that bypass, and loads of the water that was in the hose drains back into the tank. Makes winding in easier.

Here is the vid to show you how this chap has setup his van I was on about.

you want to drill a hole to set up a new tap outlet. you would have to dri hole 1inch, put screw fitting into hole for your 1 inch tap. HOOVER up the excess plastic out of tank,

these bilge pumps, would you connect to battery to use when needed , using crocodile clips, or leave it wired onto battery, have they an on off switch so you can do this.

or just connect upto battery when needed

it would be quicker than just the tank outlet tap

Ok no probs I did have a quick look on YouTube but can only find fittings that require access from inside tank
