They may have plenty of energy to then sod off and build their own round to make more than you pay
correct, unless you are there to try and stop it happening i feel it will always be a case of how long you can keep someone for rather than them being a truly loyal employee.

saying that, sometimes people want the reliability/non risk of a job.2 of my staff decided to go it alone and get a site to themselves thinking i was raking it in, they are now making less as they never factored in some of the stuff you need to pay as an employer/company. serves them right

most lads are into drinking and girls ,weekends in Dam , not driven to want to run a business . i used to mention at interview that if they worked hard for a couple of years id shave a bit of the round off and give it to them,if they wanted to go solo . non have ever liked the sound of that ,tho appreciated the gesture

Sorry missed this, what age is he davey?
He is 14 but 6ft2 and 14.5 stone identical to me

He helps on a saturday but wants do do school holidays

He makes about a third of what i earn while he is with me so is more than happy

14 year old with a tenner or more an hour in his pocket

thats a bummer, so whats your plan now ,cant you just replace them ? how did u find them?
my current line up are 3 lads of 19 who all went to school together . i also had a girl worker who faked a pregnancy on me to get time off [mostly mondays] while she built up a cosmetics biz on the side

i doubt i will ever employ a female again after the grief she caused .

And this one too, sorry mate, it's getting someone with experience, i've got a guy maybe coming out next week for a few days, see how it goes, he has got his own work too but i dont think it's enough to keep him going, i've got plenty wanting a start but got no experience, i would never take a woman on a womans place isn't in a mans working environment haha

Jesus, some height for a 14 year old, yeah can see your point with him only being 14 and at that height he is taylor made for bottoms, yeah i'd wait til he was 16

Boarcity, did you not ever have the issue of your male workers developing the attitude of , 'It's ok love, i'll get that heavy ladder, or that tricky window for you' ???????
well she was very pretty so easy on the eye and popular with customers . she did high ladders if needed ,if i set the ladder , and all was well for 2yrs until she started faking illness after a weekend of partying well i can take that- but faking a pregnancy [loadsa days off ] was bang out of order . the lads really hate her for this , im just glad she has gone

I HOPE OUR SHAZZY DOESNT SPOT THAT..:rolleyes:or becky...or my mum...she worked with my dad for years..

its okay I know what you mean..mens banter is mens banter...

oh I just looked up at the tele to see a screenshot of secretary...

that and sirens....

I Kinda liked working for my dad as I didnt really have to think I was just dropped off and got on with it ...being your own boss brings lots of hassle too...

shazzy is very popular in my town, what women bring to this job is attention to detail, its natural to them

I cant stand dishonesty off of any worker mate or anyone in general for that matter

im quite soft , i dont fire unless its really necessary - i usually let them hang themselves .

her fake pregnancy will come back to bite her, one of the lads is goin to mention it to her fellah when he sees him

a lot of custys would feel safer with a woman too.....

mind you ...it does depend on the woman...some can be er scary ..I mean have you seen my wife...

It runs in the family

I have been this size since 2nd year senior school so around 12-13

Just not quite so much of a belly lol

Brother in law is stockier than me and son is gradually getting broader than me like him

That's why he plays prop for school and local village rugby teams

You should have had a few round about the same time davey then you would have a squad of high towers for your business

It's hard enough feeding this one mate

I'm size 9 feet he's a 10

New rugby boots size 11

.nearly shat meself
