Zero detailing

you would have loved the windows I was on today....the glass is just set on a thick rubber seal but forward from it so.

no detailing needed as the blade just goes over the edge into air...of course I still detail.../emoticons/biggrin.png

big norris all 18inch was on fire this morning...some 15 sections of 7 foot high to ground windows with another above....its great to get a run like that but by the end I was wanting a change...

My squeegee is just like daveyboys abov & it's great.

Nothing's guaranteed but it cuts it down to minimal. You obviously gotta be a bit more careful at first with yer applicator but after a while it becomes normal.

my channel is modded but only bent down with pliers yours have been cut as well mate I like it

Your welcome. Give it ago especially in this weather. When I first cut one down I used a **** channel to see how it would do before I cut a good one down.

Many years ago (too bloody many) when I was first trained with Ettore Brass we used to soap/scrub with a soft broom. We had two cloths. One dry/damp over shoulder and a dry detailing scrim in back pocket. (I'm a leftie so reverse it if you're not). Scrub/soap window. Wipe excess from top and right hand edge. Run squeegee up right edge across top and fan as normal. Wipe sill with damp cloth. Check and detail right hand edge if required....the idea of the damp cloth was too remove excess suds so the the squeegee didn't drag them onto the glass. Of course as you became more proficient you started taking the shortcuts on maintenance cleans as Dave has outlined...

There is a new squegee coming out soon that is already done for you so ppl don't have to mess about cutting channels or dogear

never seen the channels cut like that must try this out

I always use stainless as brass ones will bend at the tips if you drop them and it takes a bit of playing to get it set up right only to drop it and get the hump

Ettore or moerman are the best ones to do it with as the blade is a bit wider which helps with the detailing

So have they included drop testing it too as they should knowing how clumsy some are.

Does the new handle have a lanyard option?

It's enough to make a man bang his head against a brick wall, and I don't mean a proverbial brick wall neither.

All it seems to be is 'look at me, I got a technique that eliminates detailing' or 'check it out I got my squeegee modified for less detailing' These types of posts are as old as the inception of forums.

Detailing (when required) is a two second operation. Do you really believe that you can save such a substantive amount of time that it makes a noticeable difference? I honestly believe you are deluded if you do!

It saves me time for definite

The less water left on the glass the quicker you can work

If you want to wipe the whole window with a rag that is up to you

Race you lol.

It is also a matter of pride..i am always trying to do the best job i can and after 24 years in this job i take pride in the fact my technique is good enough to not need to detail

Can I also just say on a serious note, get off the dam dish soaps and try some GG4 (or GG3) and that really will make a massive difference to the amount of detailing you do. And when you get your dilutions right it lasts a damn sight longer too.

I use asda version of ecover and flash and it doesn't behave like normal dish soap

Different consistency and better glide

Also is clear so no film like old school fairy etc and strips everything off the glass easily

Rarely need to scrape spider **** or other mess..dried bird muck dissolves pretty instantly too
