Another hour canvasing two bungalows next to each other £16.00 they told me their window cleaner has packed in so there going to pass on his number to me,result:)

I've reached my first target £100.00 and still got a full day Friday to canvas and Saturday.

Going to have a 10 o'clock start on Friday and canvass mainly industrial units, then from 4 residential, I'd love to try and canvas another£100.00 for 7 hours work but we'll see.

Well done mate, keep trying, if you are looking for commercial work, if it was me i'd hit the yellow pages for your local area, god loves a tryer, i'm assuming you are using the wfp

Commercial is good but can be faffing around to get paid..invoice then wait 30 days etc but good money

Whereas houses pay straight away (hopefully )

I've heard that about commercial, one of my mates said he waits two months for a job, but it's all money in the bank had the end of the year, i only do residential but i want to expand into commercial sometime in the near future

well today didn't go to plan had the day of for canvassing ended up getting dragged into work:( but still managed to get out for an hour after 5.

I'm going to do weekly updates from now on;

Started Friday 30th Jan to 6th Feb after tonight have £122.00 and that's just over four hours door knocking with about another £30 of maybes.

Really happy with that, out again tomorrow:)

Nice one mate. Will be interesting to see how you get on.

I want to canvass about 500 quids by april as an initial target currently on 44 after 2 short sessions.

I enjoy threads like these as it takes your mind away from negativity regarding the horrid task of canvassing.I am back on wfp after a break whilst doing other things since 2011... Back in 2008 through to 2011 I had a customer base of circa 600 customers per month, sold the van and round and have had to start from scratch again.

Being from a sales background I find selling and gift of the gab like second nature, however I still get stressed by canvassing because I don't like to fail.

Went out last Friday and Saturday dropped a shed load of leaflets and received approx 4 calls.Knocked doors yesterday for 2 hrs and grabbed 22 monthly jobs with more due to come from their family members aswell.

I still have leaflets but will now knock first...if no answer I'll post one through!

You can't beat knocking the door and speaking to someone to gain new custom...it has to be done....flyers are a lazy route with little productivity imho.

your right flyers are a waste of time in the last 2 days ive posted over 500 and not 1 call yet

I've not used flyers, I take the numbers of all those that aren't in I think someone on here called it the dirty list ill then start to canvass this list to try and condense my round. So far though most of my work is about five minutes from my front door but I know it won't always be like that.

I have ordered flyers theses will go into the nobody in doors then two weeks later I will knock again and see what happens.

Thanks oak ridge for me this will keep me focused knowing other people are watching and if it helps them all the better, still early days. I've got the last week in feb to do the work aiming for £400.00.

My goal for the year is £750 a week but not thinking to much about it till I meet my 6 month goal of £2000 a month.

My work is the next problem, have knocked the overtime on the head but I'm going to have to speak with them about having time of unpaid don't know how that's going to work out.

22 jobs in two hours! Man you are good!

Luc, you can take the plunge and give your notice in at work. If you're reliant on your wage, then you'll be out there banging on doors any spare moment. I did this in November, canvass a day, clean the next, 6 days a week. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

It's all doable.

Spc the notice will go in as soon as I hit that target but I've been self employed for 18years and employed the last two I don't want to let them down they've been really good to me so I'm hoping I can move slowly into the windows without causing to much interruption for the company.

Do they know what you're doing? Maybe explain and ask if you can do 3 days a week?

Good luck if you're canvassing today man!!

Spc is right.

Quitting your job will speed up the process.

I work part time 30hrs a week and right now have 38 custies. I reckon I could do max 100 custies around this job. but if the weather isnt kin to me and I get behind that could be a problem.

I have a few things I need to get sorted before I quit so dont want to take the leap until I literally havent got enough hours to do everything. Hard work doing both but 100 custies plus my part time would give me about 1600 take home a month beats minimum wage

I knocked a small housing association estate today of 37 houses today and got 7 houses at £8 each....the ones that weren't in I shoved a flyer through.

I honestly believe...the company embroidered jacket and work trousers combo helps no end when people open the door to you....got to be straight to the point and simple in your approach...you can have the chit chat wen you got the "yes"

I even turned a "no" into a "yes" on this estate today so very happy now I've refined my pitch.

the more I have canvassed this week the more I have enjoyed it.....from Monday to today 31 new customers and a nice money not quoted cheaply to just get work....I have made that mistake before and won't do it again

quick update its been a slow month canvassing and work got in the way but got up to £350 but just landed a major lead through my web site will keep you updated but basically I've been given the opportunity to tender for 400 houses!!! meeting up tomorrow.
