One of the clamps has come un-stuck from the pole and is now loose, can this be fixed to a good degree so it clamps the pole properly again or should I just buy a new pole?

Dead easy to fix - clean both surfaces up and glue it back on.

yep my brush head did that ....and its done it again since ..so as ftp says above ...get the glue out.../emoticons/biggrin.png

wfp is a bit high maintenance and you need plenty of spares..

any resin type should be okay...just sniff it first to check it as you do:whistle:

As said, glue (two part epoxy resin from Halfords etc) will do it or.......... You can wrap electrical tape around the top of the pole section (where the clamp would fit) and "force" the clamp back on over the tape- tight fit keeps it in place. I've had clamps on poles with the tape method for years before!!

Well I bought it 2nd hand for £150 and bought a new slx30 from gardiner at same time, thinking I should have just bought a new one instead of trying to save money!

Im going to ring Gardiner today, if there open!

This is like a crash course in wfp cleaning for me but good to know the forum ppl are here to help /emoticons/smile.png

good choice Oneil32 with the slx30..yep second hand ..is second hand for a reason most of the time..

my banana clamps are doing well although...I notice that once you tighten em up right it may not be tight enough when extended due to wear near the clamp area...so I think I had better get the paint brush out..

Araldite 2 part adhesive works fine but it isn't 99p.

Gardiners also sell a 2 part resin adhesive in a fancy applicator.

Use the same gluing procedure

As WinPro has said another technique that works well if you are out at work when this happens is to wrap one and a half wraps of insulating tape around the top of the pole section (where the glue is) and then push the clamp back on to the section. You may have to push hard until the clamp jams back into position. This usually lasts a few months - I use this technique to fix clamps on to prototype poles as it allows me to remove them when needed.
