I read on hear about wfp is the way forward & how safer it is & it gives a good clean & yes although I'm trad & have my own views yes I think wfp is a good safe way of cleaning.

BUT is it a pain in the backside.

All I seem to read on here lately is problems people are having with there various setups. It makes you wonder to trad people like me is it really worth all the hassle you guys get. I don't mean everybody but each day there seems to be somet wrong somewhere.

Is it really a pain.

Its mainly lack of knowledge @Posh on how wfp systems work and how to sort issues out when they arise.

I have had very few problems to be truthful @Posh . I have a DIY set up. Purifying on demand. There is nothing complicated about it and I really enjoy using wfp. The issues are usually sorted quickly normally by changing a faulty part, pump, controller etc, or by ensuring things are set up properly.

Yes and no. I much prefer putting up with the equipment issues, than going up and down ladders. Heaving 25ltr barrels in/out the car is an effort and filling them up, a pain. I only use ladders for a couple of jobs that are worth a bit of money. I only wfp tops and trad bottoms and like the 50/50 approach. Just heard of a trad windy, slip on decking, he was using the ladder mats to prevent slipping, that another window cleaner advised him to use to stop any slipping, that sounds painful. I had a massage a few months ago, they said their window cleaner had fell down and went through their decking, that sounds painful. Wfp is good for windows above decking, unpainful, unless you trip over your hose and smack your face on the decking(havent done that yet). When I have bungalow days, I love coming home and thats me finished, no filling up barrels of water, just wash scrims, sort money out, job done. I fell off ladders about a month of starting window cleaning, leg is still sore each day and needs the muscle stretched, rather not do that again, so wfp is for me, for tops.

Something I find odd in a way. Loads of people have the pole, brush end out. SO you have a wet brush facing you. Don't you get a wet hand. I normally place it on floor until end of shift...brush end first. Then place on hooks

ineresting question posh when I first started on the ladders the same, slow to start with

you had to learn by your mistakes, the same with WFP

But even when I started made more cash straught a way WFP and it is easier

the main gd points are

very few complaints from customers

gained more gd work

safe

made more money

...... down sid e.....

takes time to learn best quality gear to buy

job is,int complete when you leave , windows are still wet

sorry I gotta keep banana as this site is not the only :addict:

thing that is addictive.../emoticons/biggrin.png

okay though I will say....the hose can be a bit of a pain...

I started my business trad but always intended to go wfp, and it is so much easier, I have a 210 ltr container in my estate which I fill from barrels in my yard with a submersible pump attach my pump in a box up to the tap and throw my hose in and pole and away I go,, certain days I don't even need to take a ladder its lovely, wfp is very hard work but worth the change over

Looking at that first pic I wondered why your bedding was on your tank ?? But I can see from the second pic it's obviously been snowing in your van /emoticons/wink.png nice setup m8

I started out trad and thought it was great. I moved to WFP with a trolley, fibreglass pole 25L barrels and DI vessel in the boot of my car. I thought it was great. I then moved to WFP van mount and carbon poles. I think it's great. Would I go back to a trolley in a car or trad? Not on your Nellie.

The duvets were used to insulate everything during the winter, but I just put a heater in the van now so the duvets just live on the tank. (incase the wife throws me out!)

Trollie in the car is a pain in the ass ,but still easier than dragging ya ass up a ladder

A duvet over a clear plastic tank helps to keep the light out and reduce algae growth.

I agree with Smurf that issues with wfper's equipment is a lack of knowledge.

i bin trad for nearly 11 years still trad a bit bin wfp for 7 years i injoy boath but im like 80 percent wfp 20 percent trad woukd i dich the wfp an lopse the head acks NO CHANCE wfp can b a pain but most of the times its grate quicker safer more fun to use an i can clean prity mch every thing realy high stiff above connys ect an glass stays cleaner for longer ect

I went straight in with WFP last april, so far no problems with the system, the only thing that does my head in is tangled hoses! I am sure someone knots them up some days while i am working! bet its that frank! @cheapncheerful

Hose management also takes time to learn too.

I have no issues with the microbore but changed all the pole hose to Lite-5 yesterday. The hose supplied with the poles tangles badly and I just couldn't tame it. /emoticons/smile.png

one thing to tuch on is having spairs in van can make or brake a day ie hose fitting repair plastic insurts a maintanded system is a hassel free system to a point

I am not that fat that climbing a ladder is an effort and find lugging my ladders about keeps me from needing the gym

The benefit i see from wfp is safety and that is it as each method does the job

I am starting my diy trolley next week so will need to practice my stick waggling but only for my non glass jobs at the mo as 500+ppm here and not buying ro etc yet but have a lot of fascia jobs etc

One guy wants whole house cleaning and is all pvc cladding so will be good for that

After standing on the floor waterfed cleaning house after house just taking the ladder of becomes a pain in the **** never mind climbing it

:pI think you must be getting old abs

I am a sicko who enjoys trad

I daresay i will end up doing tops wfp eventually but will never stop doing bottoms trad

I would prefer to hone my wagtail skills on a pole if i can as less aggro but i like the idea of wfp

Just seems hassle (tds, ro, di, etc etc)

A bucket of water never breaks down
