I was watching the window cleaner this morning pull up and clean the neighbours across the road. Older guy who was continuously out of breath.

He was using a Trolley system and started with the upstairs windows, he gave them a good scrub but never rinsed off at all. When he came to the downstairs windows, again he scrubbed well but never rinsed either but got his scrim out did some detailing instead. He spent a good minute wiping each window.

Thought it was a bit weird to be honest.

Its muppets like this fella that put people of wfp, you should of popped out and educated the swine /emoticons/smile.png

He might have been rinsing on the glass. Dunno about detailing with a scrim though
Maybe he is a closet tradder but doesn't want to admit it to himself

Maybe the Lady of the house was getting out the downstairs shower as he finished and he wasn't strange after all ;-)

i rinse on the glass & wipe bottom frames and sills as well so does that make me a muppet too?/emoticons/biggrin.png

he could be doing what I do ..due to limited water:rolleyes:I dont actually clean the frames at all....just the glass but as you know you will get splashes on the the frame and leaving them is chancy as you may get spotting afterwards...so I do go around and take any drips off and wipe the frames sills at the same time....

he was using a trolley and water is like gold dust to us trolley users..

Don't do frames:eek:... Halfajobdave more like /emoticons/biggrin.png

I was thinking about this yesterday, is it good practice to wipe the water of the lower sills, I dont do many bottom windows wfp, but somthing clicked in my mind when a custy asked me to clean their conny and porch, I wfp them, should I go round n wipe sills?

I've found sometimes wfp cleaning on white plastic frames and sills will leave tiny particals of dirt in places that is easier just to wipe off than to keep trying to rinse them away. Customers also will notice this more as is on the ground floor. Giving them a quick wipe over also finishes of the job to a higher standard than just leaving them dripping wet. Also customers will think you are doing a better job than the last cleaner they had as it's surprising how many if in take note on what you are doing.

It has to be a clean damp cloth or could leave dirty water lines on it too:D

Makes sense, and only costs a wet towel and a few seconds /emoticons/smile.png

I always wipe the lower sills with a damp cloth, it removes all the little bits of debris and excess water. Another little trick I do is if I need to knock for payment I always wipe the door frame a they come to the door;) as I think it shows that I have a good attention to detail technique?

It was the actual edge of the window he was wiping (he did wipe the sill too) Suppose everyone's got their own special way of doing things.
