OK had a look round, holy **** its HUGE, it is currently done by a chap who uses TWO cherry pickers, don't ask me why I have NO idea at all. There are some really awkward patio style doors with glass covers over them, hard to put into words but you will see from the pictures, it currently takes them a whole week to do them. There are also some awkward windows above flat roofs at the front.
My initial thinking is doing all the difficult windows from a ladder and pole trad them from above if that makes sense, and the other ones get on to the flat roofs and work from there. The other option which I am leaning towards more is a movable scaffold tower, I can get these quite cheaply as a good friend of mine runs a hire firm, he also has these flat plastic interlocking square things that they use to make kinda temporary paths and roads with that diggers can drive over, I would place those down as a floor for the tower.

Ok there are a LOT of pictures......

Hmm OK need to upload them somewhere first, can't put them on directly hang on.
Looking forward to pics /emoticons/smile.png

Was considering putting two quotes in, one for the easy to reach windows, no ladder use, they can clean the ones behind the glass from the inside etc, and then another high ball quote.

Did you ask the obvious question?
Which one? lol

They want rid of the current guy because he trashes all the grass with his cherry pickers, last time he got them stuck and churned the grass up really badly.

Didn't talk money or payment, I would ask about that when I put the quote in.

That's a mammoth task if on your own mate....some windows do look like a ball ache tbh....I would be putting a substantial quote in for that...firstly because of the work awkwardness involved in some of it and secondly as you said they want the other fella gone...on that basis they would probably welcome whatever the quote!

Mix of trad and wfp I can see the benefit of cherry pickers but they at around £150 a day in my area with an operator but they clearly don't want to go down that road from what you've said.

That's a fair few quid that job I personally would quote it high...they obviously need or want the other one gone so you may get lucky

On jobs like that I would always ask how much are they currently paying exactly for the scope of the works involved.

Come on then Smurf the price! week long job, Smurf price, then I'll take someone's normal price and go in the middle LOL

I don't know how anyone give a price on that for a start just by looking at a few pics.

If it's a council run home they will probably be shite hot on H&S too hence why the other guys wanted to use cherry pickers.

How much water have you estimated you'll use wfp (2000 litres ) I can see why there used a cherry picker .... I clean a old people's day centre and there rules are no ladders anywhere....quids in i use my pole ..

I was thinking about 1500 litres for a full week, 300 a day.

From my understanding they had a guy who used WFP many years ago, before the current manager was there and the maintenance guy told me they stopped using him as he didn't clean the frames and window ledges just the glass.

I did say I could use a ladder to get onto the flat roofs and neither the manager nor the maintenance guy objected to the idea.

Phew!

A couple of thoughts; will you be able to get your hose all the way round? A very big job, nice to get, a ****** to lose. Some windows look very difficult to get at, some on the roof, above conny, behind glass balustrade, Velux, room set back in the roof. Is all the glass to be cleaned in the pics and is it outside only?
