No probs. It's interesting point as uv does sterilise/purify water for human consumption, but the minerals are particles, harmless to people, offensive to clear windows :)

Jim why do window cleaners cover there tank to keep the sun out?

 
I haven't seen that. Apart from maybe protecting the plastics... Sun would make plastic brittle in time

 
I think there cover the tank to stop algae forming from the sunlight ... Tds reading are interesting ,,,,last summer I checked mine it was around 300 , now it around 150 so I'm thinking when it's very dry with little or no rain for a while the tds creeps up ...

Natty over here in this **** hole n.ireland my tds is 168. 20miles up the road its 40ppm. Im going to contact n.ireland waters and ask them what are they doing wrong. Then they are wanting to charge us water rates, thats the government for ya a bunch of terrorists. charging us for something that free from the sky
