gardiners clx or slx

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Clx for price, good pole and good value for money.

Slx, lighter and stiffer, still good value.

Both will stand up to daily use over a decent period of time.

To be honest, even for a "partly" established WFP operator I cannot see the logic of considering a CLX over an SLX. The SLX wins hands down on all counts and let's be honest, in the greater scheme of things, for the relatively small price difference it's a no brainer and that difference in initial cost will be paid back a hundred times over by the advantages of the full carbon option. Having been wfp almost Eleven years and having used both the best and worst in poles this industry has to offer, it's the way I see things. Work smart and don't handicap yourself for the sake of a few quid./emoticons/wink.png

a 25 / 27 ,you would have to stand back from property then just lower pole coming down,

i do similar houses with a 27, still lots of pole left .

im considering getting a carbon pole also.

which supplier im not sure yet, id like a 35 / 40 footer in case i needed it . just take a section off untill i needed it.

cant quote higher jobs as i havent the ammo.

Thanks mate I was hopping the 22ft Gardiner would do the job what type of pole do you use and do you find it whippy at that height /emoticons/smile.png

you could always use a 22 with a added section. a 22 may just reach at stretch. you could always stand on a 25 litre drum, make sure its got water in to stabilise it. or step stool, untill you get enough to get an extra pole section to make it larger.

all depends on your budget, you can always get it on visa, pay for it in a month no interest .

having the tools will make sure you have the ammo to do these houses..

clx / slx ,

clx 27 @£190+

slx 25 @£280+

but with these poles you have everything added on to get you cleaning. just make sure you get right f hose fitting when ordering

Been debating this for weeks myseld. I really cant afford an slx yet and been thinking clx22. But today I saw another cleaner using one and looked as whippy as my harris.

It still comes down to a trade off on your budget.

Both Clx and Slx are capable well established poles that will give years of service if treated well and looked after.

I started with a Clx 22, which I still use and that will do 99% of my customers.

I also have an Slx 25 which is a lighter, stiffer pole and is easier to work with, however, it does not make you clean windows any better or faster.

Do not get sucked into the fact that you have to buy the most expensive or latest equipment to make you a better Window cleaner.

Clx 22 £126 + vat

Slx25 £238 + vat

Do you ever work above 25ft? I think you'll find that statement a little "off the mark" if you ever do!!

A lighter, more rigid pole is easier to use than a heavier, more flexible one -that's just physics. If those two attributes alone don't make you better or faster then you need to seriously look at your technique. Even if not, then what is for certain is that your working day would have been made easier with the full carbon pole- something that most of the world strive for and usually at much a greater cost than a little over £100!!

Well I ended up going for the SLX22 that's every thing on order now, hopefully will be picking my van up Friday or Saturday looking forward to it now just hope that I can make a go of it now. Kind of shiting myself a bit I've had a well paid job for a big company for the past 8 years but can't cope with the stress any longer it's making me very ill so this is a big step for me and hopefully the start of good things to come. /emoticons/smile.png

I've just ordered a slx 22 looking forward to seeing how good they are I've always used unGer poles but these look he business

Nice one I hope it is the business how much money it's cost I think I way underestimated how much money I was going to spend getting set up /emoticons/smile.png

Fair play to you andy, buying quality from the off, I've had my system 8 years now and I would say it's taken until now to move from unger to gardiners, fed up of poles slipping and spinning hopefully these will sort out this issue

Crikey Alpine, if you've been using Unger poles then you really are in for a pleasant surprise!!/emoticons/biggrin.png

I started with a CLX27, moved to a Pheonix Pro22 and then got a SLX35 and a SLX18. I love the SLX and they are worth every penny. The CLX27 is still in the van as a facsia/guttering pole. I wouldn't buy another brand again.

Are they really that much better? I've been happy with them tbh. But I've found myself using wfp alot more nowadays. Just bought the clx9. Slx 22 and if theit good I will get the slx 47. Everybody has them now so they must be good.

Yep, in mine & also many others opinions they are. The spring loaded smart clamps are fantastic- they prevent spin as they self adjust to any wear on the pole. The range of tools & fittings for Gardiners poles is also a big plus, I like all the Quick-Loq stuff. Add to that lightless, rigidity & the robustness to take some real everyday abuse & you've got one seriously good pole./emoticons/wink.png
