can anyone point me to the website

Are you asking how much water a van can carry?

If that's the case you need to know the vehicles maximum payload.

Once you have the maximum payload, take away the weight of the crew, fuel, tools and ancillary items and that's how many kilos of water you can carry.

1 liter of water is 1 kilo so if you have 500 kilos left you can carry 500 liters.

Reason being you have not taken any of the following into consideration for instance

500 ltr of water = 500 kg not inclunding tank or any onther wfp gear

16 stone driver = 101 kg

30 liter of fuel = 30 kg

etc etc etc

Still you may get away with maybe a 400 tank at a push as long as you don't carry loads of other gear or a passanger

OK, a Citroen Berlingo L1 Has a payload of 625kg.

Here's how it works - THAT PAYLOAD MEANS EVERYTHING YOU PUT IN THE VAN - EVERY LAST THING!

If you put a 500 liter water tank that is 500KG then you add 50 liters of fuel that is now 550 kg now you ad me, I am 110 kg - so that is now 660 kg now I give a grown man a lift down the road (he is also 110kg) we are now at 770KG.

Doubt a Berlingo would go up a hill with that weight wouldn't like to have to emergency stop it either.

Oh and if VOSA pulled you up with that payload I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt try to confiscate your van.

Remember, chucking a ladder on the roof adds 20kg, adding 2 roof bars adds another 5kg and so on.

I personally would not attempt anything above 250 liters in a Berlingo IMO

I can tell a window cleaners small van from a mile away as its **** is normally dragging on the floor

??? I use a berlingo first with 350 tank, me a fat 17 st, my lad dunno his weight but he's 6ft 2 & lean, 2 backpacks a sack truck, a ladder 2 poles, a Staffordshire bull terrier & a Rhodesian ridgeback (smallish female) & we fly up hills lmao

I work by myself, my work is 50% wfp and 50% trad.

If I look at berlingo 850 then a 350 tank of water will be more than enough. I don't used more than 200lt of water a day anyway.

(I know I said wanted 500 tank in a650kg van last night:oops:)

Tank 350 kg

diesels 50kg

Two ladder 40kg

Two backpack with water 40kg

Me 82kg

It about 562 kg

I would suggest you try to get a bigger van (transit size) with the biggest payload you can find as when using wfp you will soon outgrow a small van. I say this from experience as I soon found out I needed to carry more water and gear about as my services expanded and my wfp work grew.

The thing is smurf I work in London and parking is a big problem. I find working with trolley work for me best for me and I dont need more than 350l of water anyway. Like I already mention I do lots of trad work too.

Surely berlingo 850 carrying of 350l water is safe?
