Best see a doc instead of trying to diagnose yourself on the internet @norm

Is gout not another term for arthritis?

My old next door neighbor, Colin, used to work for telecoms as a retirement number, he cleaned phone boxes for a living. Well he was 67 and complaining of a sore foot for six months till he could hardly walk, off to the hospital and an x-ray revealed he had broke a bone and as he had not sought medical advice it had set wrong. Oh well out with the hammer and a swift whack to break it again.

A few weeks in a cast at which point telecoms decided to retire him on grounds of health.

Now he gets to put up with his wife all day.

Don't know about you Norm but if it were me given those circumstances I would be in that quacks like a rocket!

It's funny you say that green, my mate whacked one of his boys a few weeks back and hurt his thumb turns out he has chipped a bone and is currently plastered up to the elbow. A month off work unpaid as he is self employed and legally he isn't allowed to drive as it's classed as an open wound

Yeh gout is arthritis not to be taken lightly I've suffered with it from the age of 25 and i can tell you its not funny I get it in my toe, ankle and sometimeS in my elbow not good.

I'm used to the pain know and can work through it but have lived with it for 15 years make sure you drink loads of water it really helps.

its less swollen:rolleyes: and got more movement so im sure the rest and anti inflammetery is doing the job

more water sounds like good advice

dr.liquidator has finally arrived so should help me recovery:thumbsup:

i was always told a clip round the ear never did anyone harm

well thats a lie

Gout is caused by a build up of uric acid. Arthritis has a multitude of causes. Get it checked out man.

When I first returned to UK after many years away, I ran into an old girlfriend from school, now with 4 kids and separated pending divorce, (oh what a catch)

Well the kids take it in turns 2 a time to spend weekends with dad. One weekend the two oldest boys are there at dads, 14 and 11 I believe they were, being typical teenage little shi*es when dad clips the eldest round the ear!

'Do that again I dare you!' Says the boy.

Dad responds with a second whack round the ear!

Kids next move is to grab his phone 'Hello police? I'v just been assaulted!'

Dad ended up with 80 hours community service and a two year probation order!

Funniest part of the story is the father was actually a couple of years below me in school back when and had a right reputation as the school bully for his year.

Well goes around comes around an all that, done over by a 14 year old with a cell phone you probably bought for him to start with!
