Old school trad here. Me personally I'd put ladder at side of house & walk on the roof. I have a backpack so don't need to now but 3 years ago would of been on the roof no problem. If I never had a backpack I'd still be on the roof or pole with squeeze swivel handle & trad normaly. But that's why I got a backpack. Oh they were the days lol

Back in the day i would have done the same but in the words of danny glover "I'm gettin too old for this sh1t"

Bonus point if you can name the film

When I was younger I would not have thought twice in doing tile walking too.

Should have explained better jack, (talking conny roofs) use some TFR, apply as per instruction, then use cheapy brush off ebay attached to custies tap to scrub it up nice. Next use a cheap Dial painters pole with a squeegee to pull off remaining water.

Done. Sounds fafy but is a cheap way to get a decent result on a conny roof.

I was up on a ground floor pitch roof a while back scrapping moss off the tiles. I went to bend down on one knee to pick something up. I can't remember exactly what but struggled to get back up again.

Know your limitations and all that as they say. The older you get you will defo struggle at times just doing the simplest of tasks.

You're younger than me Davey, should be dainty as a Smurfette up a roof!
6'2" and around 15 stone of muscle (well 13 stone of muscle with a protective layer over it)

I will never be dainty

Too many years of the gym and fighting training for that

Right ok thanks

I love tile walking. That sound of cracking under my feet reminds me of freshly fallen snow./emoticons/biggrin.png

Personally I would walk on a roof like that. Not everyone would though which is understandable, roofs like that I don't mind.

The second one I would certainly not walk on. Although I've had lads working for me in the past that would do, I used to call him spider man.

Probably best just doing what the lads have said on here get a swivel lock pole would be your best bet.

What's that like a wagtail? Got a harris pole atm and getting an unger egotec locking come to attach to it to put my unger squeegees and stuff on

I'm a roof runner but if the pitch is to steep then I pole it I have about 10 on my round like that but takes me no longer once u get in the groove
