Moerman Liquidator

WCF

Help Support WCF:

There seems to be a mixed response to the Moerman channel so I've played it safe & ordered a Wagtail pivotal control handle & a new aluminium channel to make a new flipper with. I've ordered Two channels & I'm going to cut one with angles on each end.

At those prices it doesn't hurt to try them and see

I think they are great with my pole and as a hand tool but i have no idea about wagtails

As i said..never tried em

Am going to..was going to this month but went on cleaning spot and ended up spending loads on other stuff

I need to order some hard rubber for the warmer weather so may get one then

I couldn't tell whether the actual channel itself was angled or just the plastic clips? Anyhow, I've ordered a couple of standard Moerman aluminium channels to modify & fit the wagtail handle to.

The clips pull off if needed so as long as you do a nice straight cut it will be fine

That's how i made my 6" from an old prototype liquidator

That's what I needed to know./emoticons/biggrin.png Maybe next time then. To be honest the wagtail handle is my main issue, I'm fully reliant on them for internal pole work & my current flippers must be a good 5 years old now with signs of significant wear. If that baby gives up on me I'm stuffed!! /emoticons/biggrin.png

Right..been using the new channels for a few days and definitely making a difference

I have got it down to a fine art how much soap to use to not need to wipe the bottom edge at all and rarely do i need to detail anything. .just wipe the sill and bottom frame over quickly

On first cleans i need to detail due to the excessive amount of water i throw around and then scrub the frames while sopping wet with an old towel but if that is all i detail i am more than happy

Quite impressed with cleaning spot so far. I got a text saying my parcel will be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to try the squeegee out, even if its just a 10.

Just remember to do shallower turns with it while fanning and it will work fine

Turn too sharply and the rubber doesn't like it and sticks a bit causing jumps

if you fit a moerman channel into a Wagtail, take some time drilling the hole in the correct place. get it wrong and the angle of the blade is totally wrong. this makes it unusable . i did just this [fooked up] and had to bend the handle just to get a useable tool . dont drill channel centre hole at same place as the wagtail channel whatever you do!

Or just mod your wag properly

I know a lot of guys who mod theirs and can 0 detail with them

im sure theres a better way to fit a Moerman channel into a Wagtail [ rather than drilling the hole in channel centre]

im going to give this some thought

i think that putting a Dimple into the lower edge of the channel [like the yellow wagtail] will solve rubber location

I fit channels into Wagtails using nylon ties to wedge them in, easier than drilling.

After having a play i think it is even better with hard rubber as it glides well anyway but the rubber has less tendency to stick and try to fold on itself while turning so can turn sharper

I've fitted Steccone Channels to a couple of my Wag Discs. Dimple the channel as you've thought. Use a heat gun (but gently on the disc until its soft and close up the jaws of the disc until it takes some effort to slide the channel in. (friction holds disc in place). You need to work out which part of the jaw needs the most reforming beforehand so that the angle of the blade to disc and handle is just right. My only thought is that you may (in the first instance) need to spray some soapy water on the channel to minimise scratching the black anodising. The screw on the Wags has always annoyed me. It's supposed to be simply to hold the rubber in place, not the disc/handle, but invariably the fit is always loose so it ends up holding everything and wearing very quickly...

I bought the moerman channel to use for pole work it works well as you don`t squeegee as fast as you would with your hand, having been using it for over an hour i feel it slows me down when using it as a hand tool, that`s not a problem as i bought it to use on a wagtail, but as a hand tool i am much faster with my unger ergotec and get the same detailing free results!
Is your ergotec channel dog eared mate?

All my channels are dogeared polzn bladz style

I wouldn't use a standard channel

Anyone still having problems with the new channels???

It has come to light that moerman have made the end clips slightly wrong as they should be holding the rubber a bit tighter

tje same reason i clamp the end of my modded channels to stop the rubber riding out at the ends causing jumps

Polzn bladz is just sorting a vid as there is a very easy fix which makes it a lot better to use

He didn't know as his clips are how they should be but the manufactured ones are slightly out

They will be sorted at the company so they can make all others better

I will post the vid once he has
