Have bought one recently?
No but after quite a lot of research they come well recommended, also loncin make a really good engine, maybe not quite as good as Honda, if you want the best Honda is the one, but they are not far behind.

This is what I am looking at getting soon, 21l per minute and belt drive http://www.jetmac.co.uk/shop/6190/

looks good I might go into pressure washing myself but at the moment no time..

i was told that the loncin is a copy of the honda and that means that replacement parts are readily available which is handy . the loncin comes with a 2 year warranty , im running a 21lpm loncin for the last 3 years with no problems and i have a 12lpm loncin on a wheeliebin trailer which gets a lot of abuse but there very reliable . @Diwrnach make and ask terry in jetmac to supply you with twin wire high pressure hose and stainless quick release couplings as the original ones i got didnt last ******* time , also mention the forum as a lot have bought off him and you should a discount

Will do thanks for that, not sure if Loncin are a copy of Honda or not, but I know they have a good reputation for making engines.

i reckon a fsc on a 21lpm pump is a bit underpowered as the pressure is split so each nozzle is only delivering 10.5 lpm but a 30lpm pump is silly money ,

To avoid heat soak from the Moro you want Bly drive it will also make the pump last a lot longer as there less wear on the pump/jetway when you stop pulling the trigger

10.5 @ 3600 psi , i had a weeks trial on a secondhand mosmatic last summer and after 10 mins use on a weed covered manky block paving job i went back to the turbo and lance , i know that any of the commercial guys who clean larger areas wont use any pump less than 30lpm and most recommend a 40lpm pump . if you were running hot it would be a different situation

so which pressure washer from jetmac.co.uk would you choose as best @mr shine ?

personally as i only do domestic jobs i find the 21lpm loncin is great washer ,but as i said i didnt find it powerfull enough to run a fsc so i stick to the lance and turbo

I've done quite a few neglected moss/weed ridden block paving domestic jobs and always just used a turbo for the whole lot. The downside to using just a turbo it makes a hell of a mess even when using a 15 lpm pump.

Now what I tend to do is I go over the area first with a rotary at a very slow walking speed that gets rid of most if not all of the moss and weeds and low pressure rinse/brush up as I go along. Then I go over the areas that the rotary could not get at like corners, edges, stubborn bits and in doing so the overspray is reduced to a minimum.

In effect it takes less time on the clean up and more importantly doesn't annoy the neighbours so much in close proximity as the overspray can go everywhere. On a side note I've also noticed using a rotary the amount of sand blown out of the joints is reduced and also causes less damage to dodgy mortar joints between paving slab areas.

If the rotary did not work very well for you that you borrowed using a 21 lpm pump then all I can say it must have been set up wrong or you tried going too fast over the area as the whirlaway I use works ok.

I know that running a larger pump like 30 - 40 lpm will make the job so much quicker to do using a rotary. The downside to this is flooding issues could be exacerbated if the drainage is bad. Also you mention it starts getting silly money just using for domestic work.

I may add that I use mostly cold and not hot but have the option if need be as I have a volcano hotbox but I hardly ever need to use it on the types of jobs I do.

If customers want me to use hot/steam then it will cost them extra as it adds extra cost to the job using it.

i didnt know you was a steamer smurf:giggle: . the fsc i tried i found it to slow , but we all have our personal preferences. as regards flooded ares i find removing drain lids a great help to drain off all the **** and if really bad the wet and dry vac sorts it ,but tbh i dont come across this to often . in relation to patio slabs and mortar joints i brush some hypo along all the joints so im not blasting directly on the joints and removing the mortar . also if you find on block paving that you are removing a lot of sand then you should try blasting at an angle and not directly into the joints but as ive said its down to personal preference .

I agree hypo works well on it's own too without the need to be using a washer but I would not use it on natural stone myself.

I did sample today on the back of the house and custy was impressed, stone is fine as well.

ive cleaned a few natural stone walls and got great results with hypo ,obviously i would always do a small discreet test to make sure theres not a bad reaction

You may get away with it but there is a high risk hypo based products can damage natural stone as it can react badly with certain minerals leaving a very unsightly staining on the surface.

Sorry I'm having a bit of a brain fart so to speak as meant to say any products with hydrochloric acid in it. /emoticons/biggrin.png

You should still use hypo with caution though...
