How to set up ball **** on tank?

On high spec pressue washers the wheelie bin acts as a buffer tank meaning the water is sucked into the pressure washer pump instead of being connected directly to an outside tap as the demand for water is greater than an outside tap can supply.

I've not used a 21 pump washer myself but would imagine using a 110 buffer tank might be a wee bit small especially if the tap flow/pressure is poor to keep up with the demand.
It might be yeah, I will be giving it a trial run next week so will find out then, if it is will just get a bigger water butt, 210 gallon or something.

Mines an odd spec 16lpm and copes fine with 105liter tank it will be interesting to see how much the 21 machine draws in comparison

I was toying with the idea of getting a cheap fast tow bowser for some jobs but then decided against it as I have no secure place to store it.

Quick question you might know the answer to @Smurf I might be putting a quote in for a job for the local council doing the high street in town, how do I get water? provide my own with a bowser? or access to the taps in the floor?

I can hire a bowser, big one, for like a fiver a day from a friend of mine who runs a hire firm, so it is always an option.

You will need a standpipe lic as most waterboards will not allow you to draw water from the mains using a standpipe now without paying for a lic and using a metered standpipe they provide.

Hmmm that is a pain in the ****, have to do a coarse etc if I remember right.

Bowser it is then, but then that is a ball ache as even though its big won't keep you going all day.

At 21 per min a 1000 litre bowser not being toped up would last about 40 mins which is no time at all doing large jobs

how does the ballcock turn of the ro?
John mate - I think your confused, this is all about pressure washing, nothing to do with window cleaning (unless your joking lol)

We're using normal water straight from an outside Tap to fill a water butt/wheelie bin for the pressure washer to suck from. This is because if we connect a pressure washer to an outside tap, the pressure washer wouldn't be getting enough water, they need a lot of water! As said above some peoples PW's use 21 litres of water a minute, and that is far too much for an average tap source to cope with, thus, we use a buffer tank which means the pressure washer can draw water to it's maximum. If you don't use a buffer thank you can damage the pressure washer pump quite badly!

There was a company in Dunstable a month or so back with two transits and a tanker doing the entire high street from the chewing gum, paving, raised planters and all graffiti. They had 4 inch hoses from the tanker going into each transit and obviously to there lances.

In total they were there for 3weeks and made the section they've done look great. We did see the tanker move 3/4 times a day and he was filling it up down the road from a stand pipe

Not sure if worth the bother to me to get a standpipe key etc, works out around £100 or so a month with a minimum of 3 months.

You start getting into the relms of big boys territory that use what I call proper kit for the job

Not here really, don't forget I live in a small town, the high street here would take me half a day tops, including some side streets etc, maybe 2-3 days on my own.

I work in small towns and villages.
