My van is in the garage today having a steering rack fitted. Anyway they phoned earlier to say that the 'reconditioned' one that they were going to fit has some problems with the threading on it. They have suggested sending my rack in for reconditioning and it won't be back until at least mid day tomorrow. I told the bloke that I was under the impression that I was getting a new rack and not a reconditioned one and that if they were going to recondition mine I'm not paying £275 for it! Err err err, yes your bill should be cheaper then he says. Yeah, £200 cheaper by my reckoning I say.

All very well and good, but I've just had to drive to the garage in Lady T's car and pick up my trolley, a couple of poles, Virosol and trad gear so that I can crack on with an S/F/G and first clean tomorrow using her car. I also have a gutter clear to do that needs ladders and she ain't got a roof rack, so I will have to do that after I pick my van up at god knows what time tomorrow. I'm not happy about doing the first clean from the ground either as it's a minger and I want to check the sills.

Grr grr grr.

Oh, and the washing machine has packed up again!

They say things come in 3's so I'm wondering what next is going to go wrong for you.

That sucks mate, hope it gets sorted soon. You've given me an idea though. I'mgoing to try and find a cheap roof rack for the mrs car. I was only just getting into ladder work when some bint nearly wrote my van off, and it really fked me over. Now I'm so reliant on ladders for a lot of my work so I would be totally screwed if my van was away for any length of time, so I could use the backup of a second work vehicle. I'm going to check out ebay.

So tired today my face feels like it wants to fall down. Did first job and stood in poo. Then my swivel brush started to swivel too much so just said F IT and came home.

sorry mate hope ya get sorted soon

if your washing machine has packed up surely no tuffering until she is better?

Update: van is back on the road £741 lighter. Managed a couple of jobs using trolley (what a ball ache using a trolley is) and Lady T's motor. Got van back at 5pm and went and did a gutter clear and quoted another. Back home at 6pm.

Next door have gone away for a week and are letting us use their washing machine. Looks like Tuffering and biking is on on Sunday

Tell her to get her act together tuffers lol

I got a good roofrack for my old vectra for £2

Saw it at a boot sale and the guy only wanted 2 quid for it

In the original packaging with instructions

One of those that you pull back the rubber round the top of the door frame and screw into pre made threaded holes

Fits any ford or vauxhall without roof clips

Best 2 quid I've spent

Just don't fall off yer bike again or your missus is going to ban you for good and I'm not on about the bike

Looking forward to getting the bike out most norm
