Worth drilling something into a wall to secure a bungee to then to my ladder. I worry it might slide out on garage. Would customers mind? Also, what would anyone recommend using for this?

If i was drilling holes I'd use my hilti sts drill but i wouldn't just for that

I would use an ankalad

Best bit of kit I've found

You can use a ladder freestanding with that within reason so will be safe against a garage

Its bad enough when the sky blokes do it, I reckon if you did it as a window cleaner the owner would have a fit. Either get an ankalad for gutter work, or us a footing device of some sort. Contrete breeze blocks are about 3quid and they are just as good at preventing slipout as any of the commercially available models out there, and in many ways better- just a bit heavy to be dragging about all day.

well it was a bit of scary getting to the window but I have done it a few times...so far...I havent landed on the mini.../emoticons/biggrin.png

I've heard the SKY guys drill a hole in your wall and fix an eye bolt to secure their ladders to when fitting a sat dish. They take a photo of it too!

Probably as with them failure to follow their ott health and safety rules is instant dismissal

Even 1 rung up a ladder without harness

hmmmm , its funny this post should turn up when my big ladder work comes in...

now I have waited for the wind to drop as me not like that

and I am not a morning person so it was 10.45 that I started..

I looked over at the york stone flags on which my thirty foot climb was to be made and....

despite the best efforts of mother nature they were pretty dry...

and out comes my secret weapon which took me ten minutes to find..its...a weed burner...to dry out the spot where my ladder sits..

so...I will do the front first then thanks..View attachment 4287

still till the next time..when it will probably be too bloomin hot..

dont worry I do have a fall back plan if I feel at all unsafe but so far my ladder has never moved...and of course..banana was waiting in the car...

Cheap i would have just got the ankalad out

I work on wet ground like that regularly on townhouses with no problem

yeh daveyboy ...not got one yet because thats the only really risky one I would use it on...and...usually its red hot as its in the sun all day..

my backup plan involves using my other ladder horizontal on the floor and resting against the rear fence...I have used that if I feel anyway unsafe but its a bit of faffing about...and usually I get good weather.

just dont let smurfy see the pics.../emoticons/biggrin.png

I have a new game now...spot daveys dad...not seen him yet....
