Thing is, it's essentially a carbon fibre handle then just a normal blade with bent ends, the cost is absolutely ridiculous for what it is...
You can buy a gardiner slx18 for the same price, and you get a lot more carbon for your money!
Thing is...your missing the point.

The Unger Ultimate was produced as a 'Limited Edition of 1,964'.....to celebrate Ungers 50 years (1964 to 2014).

Yes, it has a carbon handle but has an aluminium channel with a heat treated coating for extra hardness, each squeegee is numbered and comes in it's own presentation box....ideal for collectors.....as a gift for someone....or just to show as some expenditure instead of the Tax Man having it /emoticons/wink.png.

Waste of money....Yes if bought to use everyday (unless you minted)....NO, not if you're a collector or bought as/for a gift.

Would I buy one....NO....not even at the £110 Unger brochure price never mind the ridiculous 're-sellers' prices.

Did I want one.......Wasn't bothered....I and Boarcity were two of the lucky few 'winners' to get them FREE from Unger /emoticons/biggrin.png.

Mate I'm not missing the point, of course I know it's a collectors one!

I'm just stating that for the price, you don't get a lot, it's nothing special, would of cost pittance to make,

If you get one free, then that's great, but to buy one, you'd be either mad, or a complete idiot!

It won't be worth anymore in years to come, it's got no value, it's a window cleaning tool, it won't be a 'collectors item' even in 50 years.

Just like the first generation squeegees from 40 odd years ago, none of them have any value, it's not the right 'genre' no one cares about squeegees...

In other words, this isn't an original painting by Picasso, it's not an iconic car, it's a silly squeegee that won't have any value in the future - how do I know this, I asked the manager of reeman dansie who specialise in antique auctions and the lark.

This was just a money making tool unger used to make huge profit on a low cost product, clever really!

Back to the original thread after speaking to people who tried it at the show it is complete ******

The end clips are just plastic clips for the velcro pad that have been stuck on the end and cut with scissors

Very unevenly also

His other wags may be ok but i wouldn't spend my money on that

If you have a good look at the Wag you'll see it's just, once again, a variation on a theme using cobbled together bits. The end clips are just bits of blue clip that normally have Velcro on them to hold the pad on a Combi. Sigh! And this is the revolutionary new one...:-(
Very true @Eric Gilliand willie was giving away wagtail wine @ the show think he must have been on it when he made this latest tool /emoticons/biggrin.png

Think someone's a bit miffed because they didn't win a FREE Unger Ultimate Carbon Squeegee /emoticons/tongue.png....only joking Jake /emoticons/wink.png  /emoticons/biggrin.png.

you asked the manager? he wouldnt tell you the truth, likely already has on order a carbon squeegee ordered himself behind your back

mines same as bingo, still complete with its outer packaging ,marked up with stickers "fragile"

Why would the manager of a huge auction house who I know very well, want a carbon fibre handled squeegee? Come on boar that's poor form!

Yeah but that's an original, not a gimmick squeegee, trust me it'll have no value what so ever, it'll only decrease in value,

I'd use it daily if I were you guys, I'm sure it'd be nice to use and look cool, but no point keeping it in its box, it'll just collect dust...

Funny thing is there's still 100's for sale, so I could buy one, but I'd have to shoot myself for doing so!

Note the lines. It appears that Unger have set up a purpose built press just to this this...

close up of my unger ultimate alloy channel. its hard to convey how light this squeegee really is , my guess is its less than View attachment 4438 half the weight of any regular squeegee

You know I don't care, this is a very cool toy. In fact I'm really quite envious of you guys that have them. I would have bought one, unfortunately this was the one window cleaning tool that my wife (with raised hammer) suggested I really should reconsider buying. I saw sense :)
