I prefer to knock in the days and on weekends mind. And if they are in during a weekday usually mean they'll be in when you clean them so you'll get paid straight away

Just saw one live person today, and she was getting into or out of her car so I didn't do more than hand it over.

Better patch though, lots of dirty frames and gutter turf on show

Did three hours work yesterday which made it bit sore, so have to build up to full days but at the mo it's not a prob as I've got no work til one more gutter job. Got limp after the hour flyering but it recovered after a pot of tea /emoticons/smile.png

If only I could get a job drinking tea, tea, coffee and beer sampler

Thanks luc, I was a bit demoralised after the one hour of just knowing the area I'd picked wasn't a good idea.
I can scout some estates out. I might spend a different session in different areas, just 100 in each, see which bites, rather than blanketing entire roads.

I can't honestly see how canvassing works for the time limited, as if I'd knocked and waited at each door, I'd have got less than 50 done in the hour

Getting demoralised only gives you more barriers to getting what you want

You may have not had much luck but you now have ticked those particular roads off your potential area

Get those flyers out during the day at those houses where no one is in and canvass the others (if you have nowt on you may as well) and then getout from 4pm for a couple of hours and knock every door you can

You will soon get work i promise

Also i seem to remember you only do gutters

Get some trad gear and do some windows and you will have a guaranteed source of income while looking for gutter work

Easier to get window work even if not as well priced

But the main thing is to get out there mate and don't let anything stop you getting what you want

You know what you want so just keep hammering at it until you get it

Good points.

I'm a bit busy from 3pm as have to do school pickups and start dinners etc. and it's a bit intense.

I'm doing windows too davey, and on my flyers its down equal emphasis, window cleaning, gutter cleaning.

I trying to do some work each working day to keep my hand in, even if it's my own windows.

Got the trad tools and WFP setup, could just do with a tank as carrying the containers around isn't fun (for me at least).

Great results for me from 3-6 on Sunday but this is also my hardest time to get motivated.

Don't forget we have a bank holiday this Monday you should aim to pick up ten customers Jim.

Yep bank hol Monday is when I'm going door smashing too. Gonna write down all the ones that I didn't get an answer from and call back in the evening. Hopefully sun will be shining and people will be 'sun drunk' and every door I knock is a yes lol :-D

I will Defo try on Monday, I'll have had a three day of flyering warm up. Can try two one hour sessions, foot allowing

Don't do too much without stopping for a cuppa or lunch etc or you start getting the hump with it 2 hrs max without a break

I tend to do 30- 60 minutes a day in the evening when i can but that would be about 5 days a week

But thatis on top of working all day

flyers are good, when you see a few new builds late at night. In the last 2 weeks I've picked up some good jobs just by dropping flyers. Doesn't happen too often but If you've got a spare 10 mins just drop off some flyers too. Doesn't hurt
