Do you all have PL cover ? I don't at the moment. Never have tbh. Anything ive broken in the past 12 years ive paid for. The odd plant pot etc. Just been offered a job cleaning a small block. 4 flats and communal area too inc. Hoovering it, wiping doors and so on. But they insist I have cover just incase. How much is it roughly and where's best place to go please anyone ?

Policy Wording

Gleaming, about 14 quid a month. Their cover is for more than just windows worked on.
I have the same cover

Well worth the price of a clean each month

If someone did trip on your equipment or your ladders.fell on someone's expensive car etc it could be a very long time before you are not in debt

Well worth the piece of mind imo

The amount of jobs gleaming cover you for is more comprehensive than any other quote I have had

Keir you need to get insured for piece of mind . If you have a helper which you say you do you need employers insurance , you are breaking the law if you don't have that . I think it costs £200 per year for EI try aplan

It don't surprise me how many cleaners are out there that don't bother with insurance at all.

If you phone every cleaner in your area and asked them out right "do you have insurance" I bet everyone will say yes. The test is to say "fine when you pop over to give me a quote kindly show me your insurance cert. I bet half if not more will never turn up./emoticons/biggrin.png

I need it to show for contract work so not something you can not have.../emoticons/biggrin.png

and er...

frank requires special insurance...

Simply Business are very good for insurance iv found
Thanks @boarcity
@Keir999, let me know if there's any questions you have etc /emoticons/smile.png As @Natty1972 said, employers' liability is a legal requirement if you're using helpers (HMRC classes them as employees even if you don't!) Good luck! /emoticons/smile.png

Anyone put in a claim with insurance? how were they? I've had policies non work related and some are better than others when it comes to making a claim.

You don't make the claim but the third party has to and is up to them if they pay out or not.

Also depends what cover you have too so say if you damage someones property are you covered for damage to property being worked upon etc as most basic public liability cover you would not be covered.

My mate frank has a damage to property being worked upon claim agaist him going through gleaming (hiscox) currently. Will let everyone know how good or bad their cover actualy is.

Crazy not to have decent insurance in this day and age of "where there's blame there's a claim"

I'm haven't long started on my own and made sure that's the first thing I bought. Like others have said it's a nice peace of mind and also looks very professional when you print it out along with your quote for that big commercial job.

And same as other I'm with gleaming £180 for the year

Only takes that 1 accident .........
