It doesn’t look much folded in but an ankalad stabiliser is my ladder safety device of choice.

Was at the Edinburgh Highland Show and who was there, BPS ladder makers, I mentioned that I was swithering over their ladder thanks to the Smurf.

iv just been number crunching, counting how big(how many rungs) the blue pole is in my photo compared to Smurfs . mines way smaller ,only 4 rungs to the pivot point ...hmmm

so what to god is this that iv photographed?the discovery of the year perhaps - a "miniature Ankalad" ?

i cant find any mention of it in the book "i want powder blue-the Ankalad story "

this hardback makes good bedtime reading, foreword by Paul Anka

did they? heres a close up of the pivot , is this arrangement View attachment 4738 similar to how it is on the bigger models?

On the old ones like that it was just the length of the tubes that differed not the fittings apparently.

I know what it's like falling from a 2 storey gable end height. The falling bit is ok but the sudden stop at the end hurts like ******* hell

On the new ones there is no threaded bar running through. You bolt to the stiles on each side. Mine is gold in colour, not blue. /emoticons/smile.png

in my photo it looks about half sized . i wonder why they dont sell this size now ?

It looks like the same length as mine folded in as that type is fixed by threaded bar through the 1st and 9th rung /emoticons/biggrin.png
