how many newbies have you seen this year ?

I saw a window cleaner walking up the road last week i know and i asked how his round was and he just said that he doesnt do much these days.

I do think there is less in a certain area than normal which ive been picking up a lot of customers in.

One of my customers is a bus driver and now hates it and ive been helping him out with starting a round of his own, but his progress is very slow so dont know if he will or not.

I see a new window cleaning van driving around almost daily around here, there are hundreds of us down here, goodness knows if there are even enough windows for 1 each!

Not many in my area, at least one has jacked it in, another has binned some of his customers and I will be culling quite a few imminently but the phone keeps ringing, time to get the round very compact and price rises all round.

@shazzy692002 do you run a window cleaning business on your own? Don't see many female window cleaners about...

Yeah im all on my todd. did used to have someone work for me 2 days a week, but it did not work out. so I just do part time on my own. put it this way, my weekend starts today haha.

What happened to all the new work you had Shaz? Didn't you have something like 400 customers not long ago?

i used to do that when I was younger...it felt so good to get rid of loads of work...all of a sudden a lot of pressure off and...

money in the bank...winner..ker ching:D

To be fair, I did not enjoy it at all. felt really bad. But I had to do it, as I would have been working 5- 6 days a week which im not willing to do. the cash just paid a loan off. so did not see any..

I do now have a fab round, I work 20 hours a week. collect about once a month. all custies are good payers, so all in all its worked out well......I did sell my custies to a friend of the families and hes doing really well. I have got rid of my ionics van system, best thing I done, so much cheaper now to produce water. all good really. x

there are a few on here jake.
and if your lucky...the shazzy in hotpants picture may come out again..

mrtaytay has it at the moment...
There's a husband and wife in my area that go round, but never seen a lady on her own, nor reason why there shouldn't be female workers, fair play to them!

Wouldn't want my wife wagging my pole about in piblic though, that's for sure..

What do you mean so much cheaper now to produce water @shazzy692002 ?

my mum and dad worked together for ages...and she also worked with his worker...

just as long as my wife doesnt get any ideas..as I have seen what she does to the hall mirror...

ya cloths too feckin wet love...deaf. ears...

When I had the ionics system at the back of my van, it had 4 filters, one filter was about £80 and I got thro about 2 a year. the other ones also needed changing, which was a lot more expensive, plus the daily salt. it would take about 10 hours to fill up, so it was time consuming to.

Now I have a water tank in my garage set up so the water produce its self thro a ro, I just come home will up my van from the garage and off I go. I do have to pay for resin now, but a big bag lasts over a year, my van was also 2004 so needed a lot of work all the time. since getting my new van and ro system and resin, I have not spent a penny, except fuel/tax ect, had van since jan.

Even tho im earning less(£6500 less as I paid the guy 50%) I don't feel less off than what I did.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie looking for some 'on the job' experience to learn the trade and improve my technique/knowledge of how things work. I'm based in Dulwich (SE22) and happy to lend a free pair of hands to anyone that can help. I'm available immediately, can travel and would just be happy with a day or two (AM or PM). For transparency I will be launching my own business soon but most likely near Clapham.

Best,

Rajan
