I am getting more and more customers saying leave it this time, but do come back next time you are in the area.

Don't these people know we got bills to pay.

Just wish I can do commercial jobs only

Are you knocking the door when you turn up or texting the night before? Give the least chance you can to cancel. You made an agreement of whatever frequency with them, then they should stick to it. Find more customers who fit into your way of working and dump the messers as and when you are ready.

I let them know the day before I come so they leave the gate unbolted otherwise I won't be able to get round the back if I don't let them know I coming.

Are they letting you know before you turn up on the job?

I have had a few messers like that ...but of course if they want it next month it WILL BE DEARER.....

I had one switch from fortnightly to monthly to bi monthly and now he just thinks I can come same day he rings me...

make your bloody mind up...

mind you one that messed me around has just been snuck up ten pounds so now looks a good job..

Had one who said I was late when that slime storm struck and so she had done the windows herself and she said next door have someone new as well as you have been too long coming..

so feck that I thought I knocked next door and she knew nothing about this..

so next time I only do hers now mrs do it her self can do it her self...

and when she comes grovelling back...

the price has gone up...

but to balance it...just texted one for tomorrow and shes great always leaves the money and a nice cleaner to chat too..

I just go along with it, because it gets annoying and if you let it, it will start to really get you down...

Try to just replace them with regulars if you can...

The customers i got from flyers are the best ones but it the customers I gain from knocking on doors that starting to muck me about.

The last few months I have starting to go off on window cleaning.

Things is cheapncheerful only small houses I find are happy with monthly clean but big houses with conservative only want it doing every two month. A few even mentioned if i could clean every three month instead and that where I have to put my foot down.

I think as time goes by you'll find that your round 'sorts itself out' and eventually you'll have a good solid base of customers, well that's what happened to me anyway...

How long you had your round?

the best custys is the one that comes for you and ask for the service you offer thats my experience, dont push people for a regular clean if they are not into it.

why dont offer quartly cleans? i mean its Money in the pocket on the long run and if the custy likes its best thats way then they tend not to mess because they have got what they are happy with.

Personally i offer 4-8-12 weekly cleans and i find my custies who can coose them selfes are much happier, then being pushed on.

yep the ones with plenty can certainly be hard sometimes...whilst the little ones can be good payers..

like that cleaner today..a fiver but always gives me seven..

and yet I can name two big houses still paying a tenner...one I have just put up two quid and they would be quite happy to keep me on a tenner for ever...yet...two classic cars in the garage..

mind you...I always get a can of coke..

lol we all have those ones, but they only can pay a tenner because all the Money sits in 2 Classic cars /emoticons/tongue.png ppl who think they got Money, but dont is the worst kind

you can get a lot of movement people moving etc....and around here a lot of rental properties who of course are not bothered about windows til they leave..

and your not safe with contract work either as most is tendered every now and then and you may not win it again...

but okay for me because I have sooooo much to do at home..

doesnt pay the bills though..

I want some time off really but ...make hay whilst the sun shines as you never know what tomorrow will bring....

especially in light of mrbumps post...

You've been cleaning 9 years. Surely you can have a cull by now?
Yes I have but the new ones are not the same as the old customers who use to be relieable.
