Yeah there is a balance, but as the sign says, we just need to use our brains... That's all..

Can't stand all the safety malarkey, if people used there brains, they'd be fine...

Accidents happen, but h&s has gone way over the top!

In my town they banned hanging baskets 'just incase one falls and hits someone on the head' - I mean what??? How pathetic is that!!

H&S has gone way over the top these days, but then there are people doing stupid **** saying the same as an excuse.

Profit vs safety has to come into it at some point, what is your life worth?

Health and safety is great surely?

Wear a seatbelt so you don't fly through the windscreen?

Wear toe caps when you're moving heavy stuff cos you might squash your toes?

Wear hi vis on a site when a dumper driver ain't concentrating?

Safe as ****.

Must admit when I was younger I never took much notice of it . Roof walking springs to mind .., as I get older its part of my everyday working now . Any risks my pole comes out .. No ifs or buts ....

when i was a kid every winter when the playground iced up we played pile ups, cos i was fat i was usually at the bottom lol, can you imagine the teachers & parents now a days screaming in panic at the sight of 10 kids crashed out in a sheet of ice with tiny kanye at the bottom h&s ffs

what peeded me off a bit was working on a new build site I was supposed to have all the kit ....

and yet...

I was cleaning houses people were moving into...

if I did them houses a month later no probs../emoticons/biggrin.png

but non of us are knocking health and safety just saying...within reason..

use some common bloody sense.../emoticons/biggrin.png

They even banned kids playing bulldog in the playground at school now

That used to be the best thing about breaktime

Bulldog, scramble, and sticks were my favourite games growing up. Probably frowned upon for being too competitive and violent now.

Also we played chainey..it but when you catch someone you then have to hold on to each other..fun once about 20 people caught and running round the school in a chain of 20 trying to turn corners etc to catch others

That got banned while i was at junior school due to the accidents going through the big archway in the wall etc

I must admit H&S definitely has its place. But there is a balance and some stuff is just ridiculous. My daughter goes to brownies and recently went to the woods on a trip we had to sign a form to say we are ok for her to go for a walk in the woods. Dangers were slipping on mud tripping etc. lol.

Problem is there are to many people out there just waiting to sue so then everyone has to cover them selves with ridiculous H&S so i blame the sue brigade.

Common sense is no longer common o_O
