Cup of Tea...

Guest

When someone asks if you want a cup of tea... do you try harder at the job than if they didn't..

I find myself spending more time finishing off the job if someone offers a cup of tea. /emoticons/biggrin.png

When I was windy cleaning first time 'round (1990's) I used to do a house with a granny annexe, the 'granny' was always in and always offered me a cuppa along with biscuits (sometimes a little soft), and yes I probably did take a little longer to get things just right. Was always there twice as long though as she liked the company and chat and if I had to scoot a bit quick always felt a little guilty!

Never drink it all. You'll be bosting for a slash later /emoticons/wink.png

I always turn them down, no time. Usually have squash in the van in summer and flask of hot tea in winter anyways. Tho I will say it's nice to have been offered.

Oh .... There is one house we do have tea at mind. It's a massive mansion and she always brings us a pot of tea and crumpets with apricot jam on :) we have a sugar bowl, a spoon each, little pot of milk .......served in the court yard halfway through. Nice and posh :)

I used to have a couple like that. Were always in. Always had a cuppa and a natter. Part of me was happy to have a brake the other part of me was saying come on you have loads to do.

If I'm served a drink, I let it cool down then down it. No time wasted. Occasionally I'll stop and have a natter, nice to have a break sometimes.

Does anyone actually stop for bait or lunch?

I'll take a drink depending how clean the house is inside./emoticons/biggrin.png

In this weather I have a few that brink out a pint of cold squash, its downed in an instant.

I had a lovely couple i have done for 14 years..last year they moved to spain and i was gutted

Out of a close of 13 4 bed detached they got me 6 other customers without me lifting a finger

Always a cup of tea in cup and saucer as soon as i got there with a plate of biccies

In summer it has been known for them to pass me out an ice cold bottle of bud which is always appreciated

And when i did a bit of courier work they also took the parcels in for the neighbours..excellent

I only accept tea if its made correctly, i.e. The milk goes in last!! /emoticons/wink.png

Nobody makes tea how i actually want it..i like to be able to stand my spoon up in it as it is so strong..but still has a good amount of milk..gotta be Yorkshire tea

not so sure why she keeps giving my buckets of water full of fairy bubbles though ...still I have a clean car now..

warning though yes tolish drinker beware...

I er ...watched one lady pick up the cup for my cuppa and swirl it around under the tap with her fingers...

Washing with fingers won't kill you dave

My grandad used to say gotta eat a bucket of shite before it kills ya

Tend to spend a lot of time chucking tea in bushes, I don't like tea, but can't stand instant coffee, I'm an espresso man, and like my 'proper' coffee, so I always ask for tea and then drink it if I really want it, otherwise it goes in the bushes!

Has to be coffee from my nespresso machine or a coffee shop for me!

This is my little bit of luxury:

Although....

Lots of my customers are starting to get into there coffee, so on occasion I'll have a nespresso from there machine! I always make a point if they've got one, they then usually offer! Yesssss!!! Love it when that happens, none of this weak instant coffee! Yuk!

yeh er....my mum and dad do dodgy things..really..

my dad the fisherman wonders in after playing with his maggots..

yeh what doesnt kill you makes you stronger...so they say..

Yep agree with @MrBump and @daveyboy1 about how tea should be made, strong with just a drop of milk, can't drink anaemic tea! No sugar please! So many still put sugar in even when I tell em
