Hi I'm John and currently living in Northern Ireland. I'm looking advice on business start up as a window cleaner. I've been working as a tree surgeon for past 3 years but the security of my job has me looking at becoming my own boss. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Welcome to the forum mate. I love this trade, but surely you would earn more if you went self employed as a tree surgeon wouldnt you? Round here they make a mint, I even thought about getting into it myself.

I would make more but unfortunately the start up costs are abit too high at the moment. I'm in my mid twenties so I'm looking this to start off then maybe some day progress on to more services in the trees etc

I understand mate. The tools and vehicle you need are really pricey in that game. Also, windows goes with anything and gives you a nice stable stream of income. Even the ladders you buy for window cleaning can be used on trees when you do get into it so that'll help. Best advice I can give you is to go back through this forum and read every relevent thread you can, watch lots of YT vids, buy your gear, and then practice. Pick up a load of business cards and flyers, put yourself about and let everyone know who you are, and you'll be in business in no time.
