Wassup peeps

Found some really phobic glass today..so much so it was almost impossible to rinse well

I have seen someone on utube using vinegar to aid sheeting ..can't find the vid now

Does this work??

Any other tips?

Not 'phobic' davey you found 'hydrophillic'

Does not sheet, looks like loads of droplets everywhere.

Only way I have found is shed loads of scrubbing then shed loads of rinsing.

Same as you normally do just rinse more, I do from the top all the way down at least twice, that tends to give decent results.

Welcome to wfp problems davey /emoticons/smile.png

Hydrophobic glass is a bugger, its only ever give me problems on first cleans.

One thing i do on phobic is to make sure the frame has completely stopped dripping, i wipe the top frame with a cloth before rinsing below, ive found on phobic (and ive experimented on my own windows) that any drips from the top frame can spot even if frame looks clean wheras on phillic this doesnt seem to happen.

Plenty of rinsing is all you can do and take more care in general.

Hydrophobic glass is really common now dave, so you'll soon get used to it, you can use fan jets on it to help, but I prefer pencil jets for normal windows, fan jets seem to take longer to rinse

I rinse phobic glass as normal. It seems to work for me /emoticons/smile.png

You'll never get it to sheet like philic, so no point in trying IMO. Just make sure you rinse and move down the glass at about 5/10cm intervals and you should be ok if you're unsure of results.

Few more brush strokes then slightly more rinsing moving left to right zig zagging on the glass to try and cover as much as possible. To be honest it looks a bit crapper than phillic glass when it's wet but usually come up good after drying. Just try to make sure any droplets left on the glass have the least chance of being contaminated.

I've seen the whole discussion since the beginning and also seen how many people have said they have stopped using it now

There's been a huge discussion on here about this stuff try it?View attachment 7490
I use it on a permanent basis, while I do like it for the nice smell, added shine and perhaps a little help towards the cleaning, it in my experience does not make phobic become more phillic. Just rinse more top to bottom, I find if I rinse really fast side to side the glass nearly dries by the time I'm at the bottom, not had any problems yet.

I find if it's really phobic, then brush 3 times across the glass instead of 2, cut the brush along the top line before rinsing, and rinse slowly in 1 to 1.5 inch sections works well for me.

Welcome to the joys of wfp! Every other house round here seems to have it, I hate it, harder to clean, takes ages rinse properly and uses up all my water quicker in the process! Your meant to use fan jets for it I think, but I haven't tried them yet...

At the risk of complicating things.......I dislike most hydrophobic glass BUT there is a select few that are actually really enjoyable to clean.

It's difficult to explain in words but it's the type which leaves a small amount of large drops that I like and the ones which leave loads and loads of small drops everywhere in all manner of directions that I don't like.........
