How many complaints do you guys get a week/month/year

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Had a funny one yesterday, new customer very friendly "quite the hot MILF type I like to collect on my rounds" when I met her earlier in the week to quote her she was happy with the price and I booked her in on a 4 weekly, turned up do her first clean yesterday, windows & frames in quite bad condition so first clean was a double charge which was all good as she knew this from the quote, spent about a hour there, the difference was fantastic, from grey minging window frames covered in cobwebs and glass coverd in bird **** etc to bright shiny white frames and dazzling glass, she gets back from work as I had just done the back, she says ooooo I will just have a sneaky peek, so she wonders past me in a tight little dress and 6 inch heels on, her responce was wow they look fab! So I carry on another 30 mins do the fronts and her door (also minging) wipe down her sills and top frames and check the back etc and knock to get money. Takes a while to answer, then she opens the door to what i thought would be thanks very much great job etc see you in 4 weeks, only for her to say ermmm are you sure you have cleaned the back ones properly?? I have just looked from the dining room and they still look rather dirty! I repllied yes having perfectly clean outsides makes no difference if your insides are as bad as they are! I noticed when cleaning them they were as bad as the outs! Just found it a bit cheeky when I went over and beyond to make sure they were perfect!! In the end she sneaked out a thanks! Nout stranger than folk!

"If you get hardly any complaints you are doing too good a job"
and

"if you've no complaints, then you're not working quick enough!"

Seems a bit of a strange mind set to me?? I personally think that if I get NO complaints then I must be doing a an excellent job, just saying /emoticons/wink.png
Slap dash Vs excellent job. The key to WFP is knowing what you can get away with.

Ok so this is my most classic cancellation ever.

A few weeks back I am on a job I have had for some time, just an average 4 bed detached, retired couple and pretty much a straight forward 10 min job.

I WFP the whole house (as I have done for three months) and pack up my tools.

I go to the door and the man of the house comes to the door and says 'thank you for the past two years but I wont be needing your services again.'

'Oh, Ok (I say in a surprised voice) Why is that?' I ask

'I don't like your new machine' he says

'Oh, I am sorry, has it left any spots or marks?' I ask

'No, I just don't like the machine' he says

'So the finish on the windows and frames is fine?' I ask

'Oh yes fantastic' he replied

'So then what's the problem'? I ask

At this point I know he can't have had a better price as this is one of my older jobs and still just £8 for a 4 bed detached.

He tells me 'I was a painter and decorator for 50 years, working on ladders all day'

'Ok' I say ; but times and technologies move forward, I have invested heavily in a machine to keep me off the ladders and keep me safer whilst at work' I tell him 'And you your self said the finish is fantastic'

'Look' he replies 'when the painting roller was first introduced councils wouldn't allow them to be used, you had to use an 8oz paint brush or they would go else where'

'OK, I got it' I says, 'because the council wouldn't let you use a roller on an extension pole 65 years ago and made you use a ladder, you are penalizing me by firing me for not using a ladder and instead using two thousand pounds of machine to clean your windows for £8 instead of a squeegee and rags?'

'I'm not firing you' he says

'Well you are terminating my services aren't you?' I reply

'Yes' he says

'And all because someone wouldn't let you use a paint roller in the 1950's' I comment.

'Well that's how is is' he says.

Now all I can do is go to van and head to the next job as I am so speechless I can't continue the conversation.

Now top that if you can for a cancellation story /emoticons/tongue.png

think ive lost about 3-4 custies from a "bad job". maybe another 2 or 3 that have said did you do the sills last time they seemed dirty or i think u missed this window last time, thats in a bout 9 months since i started.

Most complaints have come after the first clean when i was first starting out and not taking enough time. Now on first cleans i dry the top frames by hand before rinsing the glass, as time goes on you get quicker. No t had acomplaint for about 4-5 months now so i must be getting better or the frames are just a lot cleaner.

One I would have kick him up the back side and to 4 bed should be £18-£20 fact.

You will be waiting by the phone to ring in some areas of the UK if you're holding out for 18-20£
It's not 1985 spoke to a builder the other day his labours are on £150 a day and he's on £250 a day

The only complaint i've had, if you can call it one, is that i left a set of steps on her patio near the swimming pool and she rang me to tell me that it's blocking her view of the pool and the kids are jumping off them into the pool....

One in 4 years by email, said some BS about being to quick etc, I replied with thanks for your comments I take them onboard but maybe it had something to do with not paying for 3 cleans in a row and I lost interest. Other than that I drop about 10/15 a year for being payers or just don't like the job. For the amount we charge in general still can't believe there's still people that moan about one streak in a blue moon.
