For my new customers I always trad for the 1st clean then wfp it for next time.

Is ubik safe to use on wooden sills and frames? Also I have also read ubik can cause upvc rubber bleeding.

Most importantly ubik won't damage the glass windows will it?

Ubik is safe on wood..no worries there

It can cause old rubbers to bleed until all the crud has been washed out

I use ubik or virosol mixed with a little soap on first cleans now on my wfp brush and haven't had any bleeding rubbers..i think it is because i am scrubbing and washing the muck off as i go

These type of tiny sealed windows are the best for ubik

[/media]takes a while but you could wfp that next time with no worries about the frame dripping dirt

That's not actually a very dirty window..i was just showing my process of first cleans..now i am wfp i spray the brush and give a good scrub

This is why i always charge more for a first clean..not double but more than a normal clean unless they are clean and just binned old windy

If people want a 100% top job they need to pay for the extra time i take

That was about 20% ubik 80% water but 10% ubik is about the norm for me

I find that if using on wfp you don't need much at all

I have a 5l container which has about 2" virosol in the bottom(ubik is better imo)..a good squirt of asda version of ecover and the rest pure water

Seems a perfect mix to spray on to brush and all the :turd: comes off the frames and glass

I have sometime use ecover on wfp brush if i feel it needed, which does a grand job.

So you have so far not have any spotting problems using virosol then... Mmm might give it a try, I have always been worry using ubik or virosol on my customers properties because I keep reading how strong it is.

Cheers

As long as it is not a strong mixture and you don't let it dry before rinsing it is 100% fine

I have used both neat in a sprayer in the past for really bad windows but have literally sprayed it then straight away scrubbed with wet applicator

I know virosol can stain frames yellow if left to dry which is why i put it on the brush so it doesn't get time to dry

Exactly, my white stone chips turned orange when some viro-sol landed on them. I now think wetting area and then dipping brush in bucket of 10% solution and scrub away then rinse is the answer. leave on to long and it stains the area and is hard to get off!

I have a spray bottle that I spray direct to he window or spray brush for upstairs windows 10% to 90% water ratio.

either ubik or no nonsense degreaser I use both.

I don't use any of those chems anymore

I do some softwashing so always have some hypo or cheap bleach from the shop on my van

An inch of that in a big hand sprayer bottle topped up to full with pure is all i use now

Very rarely it will cause a slight orange tinge to the upvc but by the time you have finished and packed up it is all gone again

That is the reaction with the bleach but the zinc oxide in the upvc reacts and turns it back white again

Don't use it any stronger as it will stain more and take longer to fade although even neat bleach stains will fade in about a week but will be bright orange until then

If you are wary use screwfix no nonsense degreaser as it will not stain even neat and rinses a lot easier than ubik etc

Thanks for this Dave as I'll be using this chemical soon for first cleans so nice to know it won't stain as I've been a bit worried  :1f44d:

I'll also happily vouch for no nonsense degreaser, brilliant stuff, have left it to dry few times by accident and won't change the colour at all, just leaves a white residue which will wash off easily.

I’ve been on first cleans this week we’re the windows and frames were absolutely filthy years of dirt on them a quick spray of  ubik , diluted 10/1  as good as new would never be without ubik 2000 great chem
