I've got nothing against people that lick the wrong side of the stamp, its just the bitchy little ones I don't like. Ones like this one;

Meant to ask - whose this picture of?

Hes that judge off the dancing or ice skating show. Hes always bitchy, and a bender, so it just fit well.
Ahhhhh - not seen it but he has a familiar face. He has 'that face'......as you say /emoticons/smile.png

I must be easily pleased, but i feel quite proud driving around in my van with my own logo on and uniform etc, feel like im doing something a lot of people in boring jobs wish they had the balls to do.

I couldn't give a toss what others think and never have

I own my own business

It pays all my bills and keeps my family living a good lifestyle

Also has paid for me to be leaving for spain in 4 hrs for a holiday

What else do i need in life??

Oh and i don't answer to anybody which is the best thing

I've thought the same, a lot of my good friends do window cleaning, so the whole class thing was never a problem.

But I had an old school mate who moved to Oz, ten years ago, message me on Facebook asking how I was doing. I told him I was doing windows, and he nearly died laughing. Till I told him I earn three times more than him, and work three or four days a week, with no boss nagging, in the fresh air, listening to the radio /emoticons/biggrin.png.

I hadn't really thought about it really before, as all my customers are good as gold, the people who look down on me, don't stay customers for long. But this is the best thing I ever did, love every minute of it, love working for myself. Soooo much better than my old job as a manager in an office!

I visited my family last weekend and my uncle said " you should get a real job. In a office" well that pushed my buttons so I told him and the whole family that I worked 4 days last week and made over £700 after tax... that shut them up...

some times its best to keep stum an just take there cash just rember when its price increase time ther the ones that get the big increase /emoticons/biggrin.png if they dispute it all u say is sory i need to urn £1500 pw to b cunfadble  so if u dont want me to keep cleaning now the increase then c ya

Exactly Green. I don't look for approval off anyone. Especially the nobheads like that. Makes me chuckle when people look down on me for driving a van, especially the ones that don't realise that my van cost more than thier car did, and yet while thiers depreciates, mine will bring me returns year after year.
So the Bedford CA still running well then Tolish? /emoticons/tongue.png

Look how far window cleaning has come in the last ten years?! Customer perception is just not there yet.

I use cleaner planner to manage my work/use automated text messages and a direct debit system for payments.

Most new customers are shocked when I explain how we work nowadays with carbon poles and electric reels.

The biggest change I noticed was buying a new van. I can honesty say I have won jobs over the fact of having the van. Not small jobs, deep cleans on connys etc.

As soon as you start opening doors doing a "demo" for them. They start to realise I must be good. Little do they know it will be done with flash and 57 magic songs lmfao.

I did used to get comments like. WOW you have a van for window cleaning when I had a combo.

Fkum Tolish.

As you say, so many people these days want to feel that they are doing better than someone else and the windowcleaner is a natural one to look down on. Let them. I am quite happy to ride around in my 2005 Lancer....if it keeps em creaming!. They look great on their new estates in their suits and ties and nice cars. I love their four bedroomed houses where even the double bedrooms are the size of a traditional single bedroom and their gardens are like postage stamps. I saw so many of these people when I worked in various county courts....up to their eyes with debt, but always wanting to show off their pretend wealth.. A sad indictment of todays society.

Those customers that perceive we are bound to be thick are also fun!
