Alloy wheel cleaner......

A passing thought but when I used to valet cars as a boy I would spray Alloy wheel cleaner quite liberally all over the wheels that were covered in some serious crud and caked on brake dust and watch the grime literally run off like it was no big thing.

Has anyone tried this or considered this for really grimy frames yet?

Thoughts? Results?

Only reason I have not yet tried is that I have not got any alloy cleaner! /emoticons/tongue.png

well the really strong stuff is acid based, so i wouldnt want to try it, it will eat painted or unsealed alloys so i dont know what it will do to upvc
