His name is Julian, and his wife Suzanne, they reside on CIU, never met them, but they still go round together...

Amusing read. And nice to hear that its not just around here that is saturated with windies and yet you guys still do well so that's inspiring. Wish it would stop bloody raining though!

Yeah looking like a wet old week next week as well!

I'll be in Somerset for the week @MrBump - your neck of the woods?

Oh is it! Lucky for me I have a utility room to fit out (repaint, lay floor tiles and then build some custom cupboards and units) and then a boiler cupboard to make and an interior window clean to do to keep me busy. I'll be behind on windows though if it rains all week!

Yeah somma-saaairt ain't too far from me, well probably an hour or two drive up from down here, not far mile-wise but its all country lanes and you always end up stuck behind a tractor or a combine harvesters! /emoticons/biggrin.png You heading over to bristol then?

We're staying in a converted barn in crewkerne from mon-fri, it's like a nice tradition we have before autumn to take a week off in the UK somewhere...

Ahhh crewkerne, yeah I know that, its yeovil/dorchester way, almost bordering devon and dorset. Converted barn sounds like great fun, I hope the weather holds out for you! Great countryside around there and you won't be far from the jurassic coastline, the uk's first world heritage site (I think!) and of course somerset is the home of cider /emoticons/biggrin.png

Cheers mate

Yeah gonna do some trips to the coast and up to cheddar gauge etc, basically just chill out and enjoy some quiet time!

Seems to be loads starting up, the use of ladders meant there was a limit to the amount of people taking this up who wouldn't go up a ladder but with wfp there is no safety issue. I have had to get out there and take on more work than I can manage because in time there won't be enough to go round.
Agreed there's too many in North Leeds - bugger off will you !

Look after the customers though and you keep them for life

I could name at least a dozen round here and probably another dozen that i couldnt name as they seem to walk everywhere with a set of ladders without a car in sight, just wish they wouldnt do 3 bed semis for £5.50 when im trying to get £12. the little buggers

One of my customers wanted to go 8 weekly a good few months back, anyway i turned up and she said she had cleaned them the other day! Slightly annoyed, i still went back the following month as i do a lot on her road anyway, she had them done and the upstairs were visually quite dirty.

She said that since the last time i cleaned them 3 different window cleaners had asked her if she wanted her windows cleaned. I rarely hear a customer saying that a window cleaner called but never heard 3 before, so maybe its all true, too many window cleaners about

Funny thing is ive been getting new customers on a regular basis and people telling me the old window cleqners stopped and the last window cleaner we had was **** etc

Right, better go to work before someone nicks all my customers....

Glad i dont live in colchester  you should start a club for windies there

Tell me about it! It's saturated!

its swamped with windies here in the midlands.ive been stung a few times by helping some out.not anymore.every man for himself.sometimes you can shoot yourself in the foot,we ourselves could be encouraging completion for ourselves.you only have to look how many want to start window cleaning on all the forums, they thinks its easy money & the answer to all there problems.

Loads of windies in Bromley where I am, but I work in the affluent areas and some of these others turn up in crappy cars with £80 ladders on top. These posh people like it when we turn up in our sign written van and tops. Its all about perception and being professional
