Hi guys

Thought I'd introduce myself on here. Been lurking about for around a month reading as much as possible.

Bit about me. I currently have a full time job which is on a shift basis 4 days on 4 days off. This is my main occupation and will continue to do this.

I am looking to start window cleaning 2 days a week. Was thinking trad bottoms and wfp tops and first cleans with backpack or trolley. I'll be buying water.

I'm london based. Have 0 clients as of yet and no gear at all.

Do you guys think my above approach seems ok?

Looking to earn around £1000 a month which I think is doable. Agree??

Wouldn't mind a point in the right direction on wfp and trad gear though to b honest.

Many thanks guys.

Great forum by the way!!!

Welcome bud

What part of london?

I know a couple of places to buy water round there depending on where

You'll be near this place then

I buy my water from him from the stevenage unit he has

4p a litre

Courtney is the boss and knows exactly what he is talking about and will be able to put you right with any wfp advice you need

He's in charlton

itd be like me buying a fire engine then goin onto the firemans forum asking for insider tips on where to connect the hoses up

Yep fireman. How did you guess.

Sorry have to disagree mate, it's not like that at all. I don't mind walking before I can run hence why I'm reading these forums for proper advice and guidance. Bit like you contacting a fire station and asking them to show you how they do things correctly. Don't want a barny on my first thread either I'm just saying don't tar us all with the same brush dude. I appreciate your input though thankyou.

Yea that's great I am about 3 minutes from Charlton so this is great.

Is that where you were gonna get your water from then?

Nowt wrong with being a fireman

My mum was in the service for years until she became epileptic

There are a few on here that do windows on their days off

Ideal job imo for someone with 4 days spare in 8

If you go to constant services tell him mr squeegee sent you lol

Give me some brownie points

Trad gear there is a thread already for

Wfp gear i would get this to start with as is cheap and you can build up after

You could be set up wfp for a couple hundred if you buy your water

Stick the pump box on a sack trolley with a 25l drum on top of you don't want to carry ot all and you're off

Or make a diy wfp trolley from the various links on here for about 35 quid for parts and 30 quid for trolley from argos

Even if you took your time and used a whole 25l drum per house it would only be a quid to do it

I was london based w10 area but now live in leafy Hertfordshire

I can do 3 houses with 2 25l drums easily on a maintenance clean

Sometimes takes 25l for a new clean

Once you get used to it it takes less

Especially on a new clean if you wet the frames and glass..stop the water and give a good scrub then turn the water back on to have a final scrub and rinse

Go to local car washes and ask for the empty 25l barrels they get their tfr and alloy wheel cleaner in..give a good clean and rinse at home and then use for pure

Would I be better with a small van with say a 1000 ltr tank full of pure.

I'm aiming for £1k in 6 days ideally , so £165 a day on average at say £9 a house that's 18 houses roughly a day.

If I'm doing 15 litres on 1 house that's 270 litres a day ÷ 25 litre barrels that's 11 barrels a day.

That's alot to carry individually so a 1000 litres tank will last just shy of 4 days work.

1000l is a lot of weight

450l would last a while

As you are so close to a supply of pure it only takes minutes to refill

I use 8 barrels now so can do a days work easy

If tradding bottoms i need a lot less

The parking issues.and access problems round here i am happy with a trolley..when i get my van with a tank it will be more for storing water rather than to use a van mount

Cheers dave.

I just thought that was a rough fair price. Depending on houses obviously. But some are council (I am not being a snob or rude by the way or putting anyone down) but I can't see them paying more then this. Also I can see alot being fronts only so maybe a bay and 4 other windows with a porch aswell. Maybe I'm way off the mark.

Others maybe what? 12 quid? For fronts backs and sides on a semi. £14 ??

Also don't have a clue about what she tank to carry. If I get a van (need a new car anyway so may aswell) it'll be small. Berlingo size probably.

Also is that about doable 18 houses a day or would you totally knock your pipe out? I only want residential I'm not into commercial at all.

Cheers
