Starting to dread getting the squeegee out...

When you say it doesn't fit your business plan @TolishAPurd , why's that? Out of interest?
I'm not anti trad, I used to stick up for trad when I was 100% trad,

But now I'm wfp, I can judge both, and I really really am glad I went wfp, miles better for business...
I'm in a house which I'm not sure how long I'll be here, so I don't want to plumb a system in to have to rip it out.

I'm a handyman, and as such I need to carry a lot of tools and materials in the back of my van, so I haven't got space for a big tank, and I like my van too much to swap it out.

If/when I do go WFP I will have a big setup both in the home and in the van, so whatever I build aint moving when the time comes. I don't fk about when it comes to tools. /emoticons/biggrin.png

In all fairness if it wasn't for @TolishAPurd i would still be trad

We had a chat and it was him that made me make the leap when i was umming and aahing about it and using pole and wagtail

But i agree with him about the :turd: people say to defend wfp and never try trad as it "is not as good" apparently

I wholeheartedly back trad and done correctly it leaves a perfect finish just like wfp done correctly

I have taken customers from bad tradders and bad stick wagglers as both are poor done incorrectly and both excellent done properly

Absolutely, it is tangible just how many people approach you when using WFP as you 'look modern and professional'

Makes no sense as the result is the same but there you go, they have to have the latest window cleaner with the best gadgets. 'Oooohh is that an iphone 12 I see?' mentality.

so I don't want to plumb a system in to have to rip it out
It's a filter on top of a water tank connected to a tap.

Exactly, its a benefit of WFP, and can be used to get some very nice modern style properties on that mentality alone.

Not for me its not. Its a concrete base, with a large shed, that will be shared with a heated and insulated weights gym, with full plumbing and a cascade style rain water collecting system outside./emoticons/biggrin.png

I did 2 houses last thing today..2 5 bed detached houses with extensions etc..absolutely huge..parents in 1 house kids (well older than me lol) next door

New jobs and worth a few quid to me

Did 1 and a half wfp and then was running out of pure so tradded the rest and you wouldn't see any difference to look at it and didn't take any longer really to do the last bit..the last bit was more fun though after a day of fsg wfp jobs

Maybe the frames weren't quite up to the standard of the wfp ones but i reckon it's only us guys who would notice not the custy

A lot of the people that complain about trad are the ones that never really 'got it' in the first place. 'Doing trad' isnt the same as 'getting it'. For me it borders on an art form. Just like greens employee I can bang on about it for hours and am passionate in how I do it. Anyone that doesnt enjoy it will never truly grasp it IMO. That said, it doesnt have as high an earning potential as WFP- a downside that I am well aware of, but it doesnt mean its not a good earner, just not as good.

Over 20 houses, I reckon you'd see more lines and soap residue than spotting on wfp, but most wouldn't notice it, but when the sun is low, suddenly you notice all the lines... Doesn't matter how good you are, sometimes the rubber just leaves fine lines

One thing i know for sure, is a lot of customers said how clean and sparkling the windows were when I went wfp,

For me, after neatly 2 years wfp, I'm just really struggling to enjoy trad now, and I swore I'd be Hybrid forever, now I'm just more inclined to get the pole out and spray it about! Never thought that would happen!

I'll be interested to see what your opinion is after 2 years wfp @daveyboy1 , especially if you get a van system... As I was exactly the same when first went wfp, but after two years, it no longer makes sense to trad, unless I have too...

There are some customers that don't like wfp that I will always trad, for good prices, but from now on its wfp unless it's worth it to trad

That's exactly the sort of thing I said beifre going wfp, that's my point, until you try, it doesn't fully dawn on you...

I was even worse Tolish, i absolutely slagged off wfp years ago! That's how passionate I was about trad,

But I was wrong - really wrong lol

Atkeast you don't hate wfp, and that's good that you speak positively about it,

All im saying is that I can no longer pretend I enjoy trad... It's just so much easier to wfp...

Wfp has owned me lol

And I get a lot of customers say how clean & sparkling there windows are when I've tradded them so it works both ways. Trads given me a good living & yeah wfp would be quicker I agree but I'm in no rush & priced right you get a good living trad.

Guttering & facia cleanings also a good earner lol.

You'd get a lot more if you wfp'd /emoticons/tongue.png

Anyway, point is, I no longer enjoy trad, don't get all upset you tradders!

Go and detail ya lines

I would never slag either method. I respect both users & as long as there happy & the customers happy soldier on. I just don't think I'm behind or in the dark ages coz I trad.

It's got to the point now where the thought of tradding is like a form of slavery,
I still trad some houses, but the low sun and seeing the lines, detailing, wiping the ledge blah blah, is really not enjoyable anymore, not to mention how long it takes....

Has Anyone else who's wfp started to feel like this? It's such a drag having to get the ladders off now, used to not mind it, but now I'm finding wfp is being used for nearly all my houses...

A year ago wfp was being used for maybe 75%, now more like 99%

Wfp is just so much easier and faster, it's like night and day
I'm exactly the same, I actually turned two inside cleans down last week because I couldn't face it lol

I do do both. I have wfp set up that I use for windows above Connies & slopping roofs & 3rd story. Been wfp ing for about 2 years now. Make my own pure water. Did you not see my thread RIP my Harris pole lol.

I've always said, "I'm not anti WFP, I'm just anti bullsh*t". Can't stand the propaganda that comes from the WFP manufacturers, but even worseis the gullible people that come on here and spew it out like gospel. (not you jake, just arguments in the past)

You don't need to have done both Jake, the problems and benefits with both methods are very well documented. I don't look at trad with rose tinted specs and I suggest you don't with WFP, like I said before, its about maximising the positives. I don't get problems with lines btw, and Itrad my own windows every month. I know why other people get lines though and it is down to the tecnique that is shown on many videos. I will be happy to show anyone on here in person how to stop it, but I'm not planning to be the next youtube star so it will have to be in person.

Agree with you diwrnach, I turn down insides on the spot. Hate them. I tell them in not insured if I come inside the house. Just hate the hassle
