I got a quote of £1800 for a 350 litre system fully fitted with brush and resin ready to go out working. That's the van floor water proofed also[/quoteWell it's your choice mate but my advice is keep your customers you built up a good reputation with

My van 'system' cost under £500 and it does same job yours will - just won't look as pretty ! Good luck tho

you have nowt to worry about it will be best thing you doget decent poles and brushes hayho your a winner
I hope so mate i'm trying to keep positive about it. Just want to get the work done an easier way if i can. Sorry didn't see you're message earlier

still think if you have loads off graft two man team WFP you will fly through your grafttell your custys you are changing over to WFP mainly for health and safety

get as much info as you need here and you wont go wrong

i,ve been WFP two years never looked back
Yeah that makes sense dunc. I'll just be a one man team that is the reason i am going wfp

another point to consider is you don't need to get round monthly - lots of guys on here are busy with 6 - 8 week rounds - they do stay cleaner with pure waterGet a Loan and keep your work - there's lots of cheap ways on the forum to setup a van
I've mulled over getting a loan mate i really have but i have a lot of bills to pay at the moment so it would just be more debt with ridiculous interest charges but cheers for your advice

Actually mate that's not true I forgot about resin vesselOh and £500 Gardiner pole !!
Poles! Lol the setup comes with a clx 22ft but seen so many people on here saying go for the slx from the word go but that's more money!

the van system i got to start I bought 350l second hand tank and 100m reel canny mind price to be honest

getting van fitted was the easiest part took it to local garage they fitted pump relay battery, no problems at all.the van system has never let me down from day one

nothing wrong with clx that was my first pole.

have you checked your water also

Me too £60 tank off eBay second hand - I have had **** poles in past so I would say put money into SLX 30

Then you can add sections if needed

why are you spending nearly 2 grand and selling part of your round just tp go wfp

sounds insane to me.

If you already have a van and your tds is low enough to be d.i only theres no need to spend more than 500 quid if you go the secondhand route.

i started wfp for about 200 quid at first i made a d.i.y trolley and a harris pole setup... even a van mount is cheap..its only a water container a battery a pump and some hose at the end of the day its not rocket science mate

my current system is

250 tank £50 ebay

70ah battery £45 ebay

chinese pump £15 ebay

hoselock reel £30 b&q

100m microbore £50 ebay

2x d,i vessels £70 ebay

plus a few fittings

i have an slx 22

but i started with a harris pole and a tesco floorbrush!, made some jets for it and used 8mm fishtank hose from b&q - that pole cost me £30 ish and i used it for 2 months before buying an slx

Did they bolt the tank to the floor and all that too? And how much did it cost? I haven't checked my water but i know i live in a really soft water area.

I just dont know much about it but the quote i got was the cheapest i could find to get it done professionally. How much do you reckon i could do it for? All fitted properly and with a decent pole

any mecanic will bolt tank frame in for no more than a 100

and do yourself a favour and get a bigger tank min 500 as with a round of 300 and growing uel find yourself running out to ofetn and having to moniter ur flow during the summer and brighter weeks

I dont want to sell it but circumstances are forcing me too. Yeah i'd be d.i only but i'd want it to produce pure water from the van rather than having to make my own at home as i live in a flat and it would be a lot less hassle. Do you honestly think i could do it for £500!!

What about a cage though? The guy who i got the quote off reckons a garage would charge £400 to do it properly. I can only get a 350 litre tank because my van has a 595kg max load or i would get a 500 litre tank. It's all circumstances

So it's Agreed ! We all say DONT sell off your existing customers and years of income - and don't spend £1800 on a setup

Search this forum previous threads it's all there to read Kev - it's a big step after 19 years so all the best

You won't regret it mate I did same thing

Oh and you could do with backpack there essential in my experience ( quick , portable and a back up pump for emergencies )

How can you produce pure water from the van?

yes you could do it for less than 500 without a doubt, give me 500 and drive here and i will do it myself lol

If you are determined to get a frame and bolt it to the floor then thats going to add cost, but you should still be able to d.i.y it

Im a d.i.y guy though, i wont pay for anything that i can do myself, never used a garage yet for anything other than an M.O.T.

For one man 350 is plenty

And if your DI is in van you can top up on job

Sounds a bit better that! My main concern is that it is bolted to the floor securely and cheaply as possible. I know it's no rocket science but it can seem like hassle when you can get it all done at once in a day or two all securely and floor waterproofed

Someone said to me it's just something you fit in the van that makes it pure on site. A case of filling the tank up with water from the tap and that is it. Isn't doing it yourself bad for insurance purposes?

Why not get a backpack, a pole and a trolley setup first?

Another alernative to a tank is to make a d.i.y trolley and leave it in the van and connect a reel of microbore to it, then you have a van mount and a trolley in one.

Buy 10+ barrels for cheap off ebay and away you go
