Feel much better now I've got that off my chest /emoticons/biggrin.png

Having one of those days  You know how it is, customers pay peanuts and expect caviar.

For the record I hate conservatory roofs, inside and out, these weren't even that dirty but there always seemed to be a spec remaining on the glass somewhere and some bird poo proved impossible to remove!

Job done

I have had stubborn bird plop on conny roofs and resorted to neat ubik on the brush

Give it a good scrub and turn the water straight on so it doesn't dry

Melts away

If that doesn't work use a gallon of petrol and a match

I've just bought UBIK 2000 and according to its label, it's quite a strong and corrosive alkali. The manufacturer recommends consumers to use it only on a small area of treated surface first, and to continue any further only after it's safely proven that it won't cause any damage. Can anyone think of any materials (apart of parts of windies' bodies) in the world of window cleaning, conservatory cleaning or gutter & soffit & fascia cleaning that may get visibly corroded while treated with UBIK in general, and highly concentrated UBIK in particular? And what about any small children or pet-related safety risks after the professional application of UBIK?

Danny, I use it all the time, the warning is pretty much the standard warning all chem suppliers have to have.
I use it on windows, gutters, conservatories, to wash my van, and even use it to clean my hands in a pinch.
Cheers @Green Pro Clean Ltd , it sounds quite reassuring.

BTW, cats normally relax only on ground floor window sills, don't they...

Yeah think I need to get some of this ubik stuff purely for bird poo on connie roofs, only thing I've not been able to shift with elbow grease, ecover mix, scrubbing pads etc. Is there any chance at all of damage to the connie though as this is probably an 50-70 grand connie?!

Also what are the chances of leaking? How hard can I blast the water and can I shoot water upwards towards and under the finnials? Gets filthy under there but I don't want to flood it!

Ubik diluted is fine..don't let it dry out as it is possible to stain upvc and glass but spray some on the brush and clean as normal you'll be surprised how good it is

Its the potential staining that worries me  I hope its not corrosive on seals either  But then so many of you windies use it it must be good and not that bad, if you can make sense if that /emoticons/biggrin.png

If i am doing a roof i will put se on my brush or use a sprayer

Spray around 3 panels and then give all 3 a quick brush with the water on then get to work

The only time i worry is mid summer where i will do a panel at a time so it doesn’t dry

Don't worry about staining you'll be fine but only use neat on thenbrush for a stubborn stain don't spray neat and let it dwell

The stuff is magic for dirt a Quick glug of the stuff in a bucket half full with water is what I've been using as recommended by Tench, then hand washing FSG and brushing on connys. Dries your hands out bad though if prolonged contact so I've been using latex gloves under my work gloves for this, but may also get some barrier cream too.

My hands always feel rough after

Virosol really ruins my hands which is another reason i use ubik

It is excellent for first cleans wfp to get all the **** out from above the frames and vents

Also excellent on first cleans trad

I did a video of it

I'll find it

That's the way i did first cleans trad

It means cleaning the glass twice but takes minutes and no scraping which takes ages

Nope that's a demo of how I would do a very dirty first clean

I would do it a hell of a lot quicker too

Can't rush when showing a process

Just showing how to use ubik

It would be charged double to do a clean like that also

I never detail trad either so that speeds me up

This is slow mo to show my wagulator but normally over twice that speed with no detailing

Wfp is still quicker though lol
