How much would you charge to just clean the front?

How much would you charge to clean front+back?

I got a phone call this morning and i told the guy £40 for the whole house. Hope im not under charging

Assuming the back is like the front with no silly conservatories, atriums nd the like then you are probably not far off at 40, and only if those bars on the windows are inside the glass as it looks like they are from the pic. If they are the stupid stuck on ones I would say 60 or more. Don't be intimidated by the size of the house, when you weigh it up there isnt actually that much glass on it.

If it's the same at the back then £30 max for me,

That'd be done in 15-20 mins wfp,

If your trad, then maybe a bit more... But they look like nice easy windows, and not that many...

It's only 3 trips up the ladder at the front, not many windows at all really...

Ye me in front lad on back done ten min wfp so prob 25 for me

Si have to be carefull coz always get the famous line!

Done?already?

Yeah that's right Evie!

Sometimes I go slower cos I feel embarrassed at how fast it is!

I love it when customers are out, then I fly round with no worries !

id say 8-10 front where i live. if back was similar id be very happy with £20
Why is anyone talking about quoting for the front ? Do people actually have just fronts cleaned and not the whole house ?? I've never known that in 20 years

read the op question maybe /emoticons/wink.png

The bars look like they're inside the glass TAP.
I thought so, can't see to well on this notebook.

I've had it quite a few times. I've always managed to turn it into a full house clean once I explain that most of my fee is just the turning up, i.e not half price. Only exception in the tight old terraces where I am happy to just do the fronts as it saves me fkin about walking all the way round with a ladder.

I could easily get £40 for that house. The pole guys around here charge the same as me and they can do it quicker. So why someone would invest all that money in the gear and then drop their rate to suit beats me. If you can't charge good money and walk away smiling on a house like that then you really are mugging yourself off. I'd rather do a couple of council houses with the kind of folk that offer you a cuppa then (potential) arsehole that lives in a house like that.

Tolish Ye if can get 40 then of course I'd be happy

But if I quoted really would be happy with a max of 25 I mean I no for fact me and lad could do 4 of them a hour so 100 a hour on houses like that is hardly pocket change

But if you can get 40, then why is 25 enough? And if I had another tradder working with me we could easily bang out 4 of those in an hour (if they were side by side, no chatting to custy, and all the other things in the real world that slow us down). Except we would walk away with £160 because I have quoted it properly. I have houses half that size that I charge 25 for.

looks like a nice job from the front anyhow. easy access all around to walk your pole.i just take it for granted that people who live in houses like this can afford to pay a good price.allthough they can also be the tightest and smartest at trying to get a low price .watch out for the line.."the last window cleaner only charged us etc".stick to a price you are happy with!! i am always surprised how cheap some guys are and how expensive some are.my attitude is a fair days pay for a fair days work. i learnt the hard way for ages i underpriced work scared of not getting the job and trying to be nice.i learnt many people will take advantage of you if they can .all the best with it.

yeah don't be nice, stay firm and charge a price that is reasonable and you're happy with. I'm still shocked how little some WC charges. Got a phone call not too long ago telling me Im charging too much and he found a wc that only charges £4 for the front of a 3 bedroom house. About a Month later I drove past his house and its still dirty. what a surprise! people also don't seem to realise that if the quote is too cheap, it is also easy for the WC to dump them or move onto better paying customers.

I think its because I'm based in London and the terraced houses will be impossible to clean the back windows without someone being in the house. The back windows doesn't get dirty as quick so its understandable.

@TolishAPurd the reason I'd quote £30 is because I know that £40 is way too steep, and I wouldn't get the job, as other windys would be around the £25-£30 mark, so it's about getting the right price for the size of the house,

To me it's a £30 house, and done in 15-20 mins, round my way that's top rate... It's not selling yourself short?!

If i got that for £30 of be laughing, it's a great price!

We never said we wouldn't be waking away smiling? Evie was hally with £25 for his area, and I'd be more than happy with £30

some of the window cleaners must be millionaires on here!!

I'm not saying not to charge 40 but 25 is the price id charge based in time it would take and 15 mins work for that ain't bad!

I must be doing Something right coz I never lose custom or get cancellations

Sometimes high prices can lead to customers, can you leave this time?etc etc or going 8 weekly etc

All my work is 75 fortnightly 25 monthly so not hard cleans

If it's simple at the back, £12 front and £20 all monthly

If its near other work you don't want to mess about with high prices IMO, you want to get it and keep it. but if it's a half hour round trip, make it worth your while
