hey guys I'm thinking of purchasing a vacuum cleaner to clean out the tracks it seems I always get the worst of the worst of tracks and seals and the bush just doesn't seem to get all of it any you guys carry a vacuum ?

i have used a wet and dry vacume in tracks works great in big what i call ranch slider doors or double sliders the tracks on these are often packed out with everything from animal hair to small stones especially on ground floor . i squert diluted warm washing up liquid into track. then use a plastic shank to agitate as you vacume up . slide doors back and forth in get under them . i have found it can be much harder to put a door back in than it is to remove it so i just leave them in now .i used to try and clear out the small drainage holes in aluminium frame to release water but this would leave most of dirt in track still and takes forever to get out buy hand, so now its the wet and dry vacume. well thats what i do on the really heavilly soiled slider tracks .on regular small tracks i just either small brush them out or use the corner of my sill cloth wrapped onto a detailing tool or similar . looking forward to what feedback you get to your question as i would like to know of any fast or good methods to do this important part of window cleaning.

Hey Matt, I bought one of these a few weeks back from Harvey Norman and it's great. The charge lasts for a standard 4x2 (turn off as soon as I've vacuumed the track). I usually scrape the tracks then give a quick vacuum and repeat if necessary on all window and slider tracks. This is a service i provide as an optional extra.

Forgot to mention I usually go round doing all the scraping and vacuuming first whilst everything is all dry and then do windows. Whilst doing windows i pop it back on charge ready for the next house if they're having the same done.

It should have been $200 but i did my usual and asked if that's the best they could do so got it for $185. Saves time as I used to use a normal barrel vac and to lug it around and use extension cable etc.

No worries.....another window cleaner i know has the hand held dyson but after looking at reviews of this one and the price i decided on this and glad i did.....think i looked on trusted reviews site

Nice one, hope you like it. Give the tracks a scrape to loosen then vac

I usually use a screwdriver inside a micofibre cloth, you should only have to quickly go over track once or twice with the vac. The bursts of it running are only usually about 10-15 seconds on each track. After the first 4x2 I did with it I was interested to know how much longer I had left out of it before running flat, so i just let it run when i got home. It ran for another 7 minutes, so not bad. One of the plus things about it i found was you can twist nozzle round and lock to get in at different angles. Just remember to put on charge before you do windows, if your next house is having tracks done.
