sounds like weird ********

iv jus remembered yrs ago a neighbour of mine joined the JW . hed been on his own with 2 kids after a marriage breakdown. spose he was lonely , the JW found him, got him a new wife within weeks a good looker but deaf

,kids hated her but came round and they was soon heading to the kingdom hall in the smart clothes like all the rest. sold his soul so to speak. just my opinion

My Sister and brother in law are Jehovah's Witnesses.

My Brother in law is a Window Cleaner. I got him into it around 20 years ago. We work together for 1 day every month, just doing a couple of roads that we share for the crack.

We have had many meaningful conversations obviously, but he is just a normal hard working window cleaner. He knows a few other window cleaners in his congregation too. Apparently it fits well into their lifestyle.

He doesn't do well with Christmas tips as he wont accept them, but says he will accept a straight tip.

I clean windows for 1 JW couple who actually tip me around February as they said to me they Don't celebrate Christmas but still like to tip, which I thought was nice.

To all of you who Don't believe in God....You can bet your arses you will on your death bed /emoticons/biggrin.png:D

Since we got rid of our emergency catering wagon we have volunteers turn up at large incidents and serve up tea, coffee, Mars bars etc....The Plymouth Bretheren have been doing this for quite a while now, some of their women are pretty hot....anyone know what their policy is on sex with a married man?

Where my mate works in the warehouse run by Plymouth Brethren they get the good bonus i mentioned but also they have lunch (sandwhich of choice, muffin or fruit and crisps ) delivered for every employee daily which I think is a nice touch

They won't eat with the non brethren though as they won't break bread with non believers but all staff get fed at lunchtime

Don't believe in Gods of any shape and form but fair play to anyone who does, my wife and kids do, and I'm a great believer in each to their own. Won't be believing in them on my deathbed.

I was on my death bed when I was 28 and when I was 19, the first was with a heart attack, the second I would rather not say why, at neither time did a magical sky wizard pop into my head.

Forgive me If this is too personal @Diwrnach but is you heart ok now? Do you ever worry about it happening again?

Sorry to hear about it, I've been through some crazy health issues as well

Well I can't resist this one. I just have to pipe up.

I'm now 45 years old. For 43 of those years I was an atheist. The mere mention of the name "Jesus" used to make me cringe inside. I could not even step inside a church I felt so uncomfortable near them.

I went on an Alpha course (discuss the meaning of life from a Christian perspective). I thought I'd have some good arguments with "those Christians". Never in my life did I ever conceive what would happen to me.

Here's my story...

http://www.alpha.org/journal/stories/117

I found the reality that Jesus IS real with a very personal encounter (my story on the link above). We are all guilty of mocking him, but how many of us have ever actually made the time and done some serious research on Jesus. Plenty of evidence out there, but everyone is too busy in their daily lives to consider the biggest question of all. What happens after this?

There is no evidence, none, feeling him in your heart or something similar is not proof, there is in fact a hell of a lot of proof he didn't exist, the fact is he didn't exist, he is a fabrication, 100%, as Mr Hawkins puts it religion is for people afraid of the dark, when we die, we die, that is it, nothing "happens".

I was 28 when it happened, I just get on with it, I have done everything they said I never would, I was told I would never lift anything heavy I can now deadlift 200kg, squat similar, I do worry at times about it but worry doesn't help anything, just have to get on with it.

Lol dirwnach there is plenty of proof Jesus lived mate, weather you believe he's god or not that's fine, but he was a real person,

You can't feel gravity, but you know it's there, you can't see oxygen, but you know it's there,

I can't help but feel like you've had a really bad expierence with religion ?

Im not arguing with you by the way, but you do need to look at both sides of the story sometimes, I appreciate you hate religion, that's fine, but your by far he most hostile towards it...

Anyway, glad your heart is better, it's not nice being ill

Show me the proof please.

There's loads and loads of articles dirwnach, Google it, I'm not a gonna start posting history lessons

Look up the Sinai bible, its the oldest known to exist, there is no resurrection etc in it, without Christs resurrection you don't have Christianity.

The entire thing rests on a false hypothesis that people were created by dirt and ribs and evolution didn't happen, we know both of those things to be false, without the creation being real there is no reason for any of it as it all hinges on Eves sin, there was no Eve.

I have studied history and religions of all kinds for many, many years, the entire Christian myth isn't even original it is plagerised from earlier myths, its all a load of none sense.

I have nothing against people with religion though, don't get me wrong, people can believe whatever none sense they want, but just like cancer, I hate cancer but don't hate those with cancer, I hate religion but not religious folks.

I don't need to google anything, there is NOT ONE BIT OF PROOF he existed, none, zilch, zero.

Ok that's fine /emoticons/smile.png
That is always the reply when the single word of "proof" is mentioned, you just get wishy washy "feel it in my heart" answers, or no answer at all.

The Christian god is quoted to exist in the places where we lack knowledge, God is getting smaller and smaller and smaller every single day, we know how animals including ourselves evolved, we know the sun orbits the earth and not the other way round, we know so many things that before the answer was "God did it" the reply of "god did it" is the reply to less and less all the time, currently God is very small as our knowledge gap is getting smaller, soon he will have knowhere to hide.

The reason I dislike religion on the whole is fairy easy really, *** people are currently being tortured and burnt alive in some places on this planet at the coaxing of religious preachers, American preacher went to Africa and got a bill passed to kill *** people, that is what they're doing, it holds us back at every single turn, stem cell research has been held back years and years due to religious involvement, currently Syria and the whole middle east is completely insane fighting over whos imaginary friend is the right one, its pure insanity.

I suppose it's a bit like in 2000 years time, no one can 'prove' hitler existed, we will rely on stories and literature, books etc, same as Jesus...

We can't prove he didn't exist either? Just like we can't prove a lot of things in life...

All I'm saying diwrnach, is that sometimes an open mind isn't a bad thing, I can see you strongly disagree with religion, it's very very clear, but I sometimes wonder why your so hostile towards it,

It's remarkable that the bible has survived for 2000 years, no other book has sold more, no other book has been so well preserved, it's quite amazing.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not into history, so I'm chiming out of that now, i have no need to argue about it...
