Do you let staff know how much the client pays?

I'm just about to hire someone due to an injury that has put me out of work (possibly a blessing in disguise).

I am currently using Aworka to manage my round. When the staff cleans the property they will obviously have to bill the correct amount. But I do have slight reservations about staff knowing how much the client pays. I can't really see anyway around this as the staff are working towards a percentage, not a flat hourly rate.

Any advice on how to manage this?

When I used to sub off a company about 9 years ago i was given printed lists of the work i was given with the prices on..other guys worked for him and had the same on paye

It was different for me as i only had to give him 20% of the value of the work

His proper staff were paid £10 an hour but had to do £20 per hour of work

It was all there in black and white and nothing hidden from them..then it is up to them if they want to work for him or not but back then £10 per hour was good so they did it

Also how can they collect money on the job if they don't know how much

People aren't stupid they will realise you are charging a lot more than you pay them as that's how business works

The only downside is you will always get some jack the lad who decides he wants to do it for himself

As long as they don't try to tap up your customers it's not an issue

dont worry at all about it , its the same in all businesses . for example workers in a car factory know the car sells for many100 times what theyre paid but accept it.

My staff have always known what I charge as part of their daily task is to collect from those customers that were home.

Also so those delinquent customers that were more than 2 months behind went on hold till paid up so the lads would knock first to collect before doing the job so had to know how much was owed.

If paranoia is eating at you then have the new employee sign a non-compete contract so when he stops working for you he can not work for another window cleaner or himself as a window cleaner within a 10 mile radius or so of your HQ / House.

Yep agree with all above. My mate Dan works for me and knows all details of my business. He knows I earn good wedge, but I pay him well so he's happy
