Resin Again....

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Tuffers is the lot that has just exhausted do you still have the bag and let us know the batch number. The first di has the resin exhausted completely as that will have an impact on the second di.
Hi Doug, the spent resin batch number is 722014, this was bought from http://www.osmotics.co.uk/products/25-Litre-Tulsion-MB%252d115-DI-Resin.html

My newest resin bought from you (which is in the second vessel and not been used yet) has a batch number of 722240.

I did the riser test that you suggested by putting a plastic bag over the lower filter and can confirm no water came out when the tap was turned on.

UPDATE:

@doug atkinson, here are my recent findings.

I have made about 1500L since my last resin change. Water from tap = 070PPM, water from first DI = 055PPM, water from second DI =002PPM. It was 000PPM last night! I give my DI a swirl before every tank fill. You can barely feel any water swirling. What do you make of this Doug, the resin was bought from you. I did buy a new TDS meter just incase my meter wasn't acurate. Both of my meters are showing the same reading.

Tench how big is your bessel

changed my membrane on the RO in september plus the pre filters and resin really pleased pure water is at 001 at moment never changed resin yet

now i had planned to change pre filters first week December

Tuffers one thing that struck me straight away is hardly any water swirling. If you open up your vessel there should be water up to the rim. If there is no water then there is a problem with your di head which means water going in is some how finding its way on the outside of the riser tube. Could you send some photos of the inside of your di head and top of riser tube to info@.

Thanks

Doug, water is to where the top of the resin is.

It was at 001PPM coming through the vessel on Wednesday, 002PPM on Thursday. About 500 litres have passed through during this time and I shake the vessel before every tank fill. I've just checked the TDS and it has shot up to 014PPM . The same thing happened last time the resin had gone off. I use Tulsion MB-115 by the way. Now, I have a small amount of resin left (about 7 litres) and a brand new bag. Would you be tempted to use the 7 litres from the old bag and top up with the new bag or fill the vessel with the resin from the new bag? I'm tempted to use just resin from the new bag and keep a close eye on the TDS when it starts creeping up. If it does shoot up like my last lot I think I might try another brand for a change. I bought the latest bag from @doug atkinson, so I'm interested to see what my findings will be.
Anyone else noticing a quick rise in TDS?
this is common, think of it like a glass filling up...once its full look out!

Hi Tuffers yes meant yourself. What di vessel is that 8 x 17 or 8 x 22
It's 8x17. You know last night my TDS had gone up to 002, well I got home this afternoon, swirled the vessel and it's coming out at 000 . I always swirl the vessel, so I don't understand what's going on.

Hi Tuffers, I have a bag from that batch and have been running tests for past 2 hours but had to stop as needed the water. So far have exceeded what you have produced but still need to carrying on testing it. At present there does not seem to be an issue with that batch but once completed will publish results.

The problem seems to be with your set up and that can be a pain to find.

But WinproClean had the same problem as me and bought two new vessels and is still getting problems. @Damo, are you using Purolite resin?

its got nothing to do with the di vessels.ive used tulsion resin since day 1."simply put" its not lasting as long as it used too.its a shame because tulsion was the king of resin.

I keep hearing about problems with this Tulsion
