Hi guys

I have been reading the 'Twitbook' thread by @MrBump so decided to start pushing my Facebook page. I setup one about four months back, but didn't know how to publicse it. The thread came up with the idea of regularly pushing the page on those local buy and sell groups on FB, so that's what I have been doing. And I wanted to update this thread as I go along with how many leads are coming in, as it may encourage other cleaners to try the same.

So far (since yesterday)

£17.00 clean, every six weeks

£15.00 clean, every six weeks, but will confirm tonight when he checks with his missus

£55.00 one off clean, inside and out, for a woman selling her house.

Here is my page, give it a like, and any thoughts on how to make it better...

Good work Jon, glad to hear its bringing in work already. Like the pictures, I need to remember to take more myself! I think people prefer to look than read, at least at first, so good for grabbing attention. Just started setting one up myself. Let me know how you get on, good luck!

what works really well on FB is when you get a previous customer vouch for you , the casual comment "cleans mine, hes a very good cleaner" , this triggers off a melee of newbies, the waterfall effect.

iv one or 2 comment -happy customers who i butter up, when i see them i say, \"see you on Fb later this arvo" an i later post a comment or a foto of their street with me van on it an write comments such as "youv done so well with that fishpond "

they love to see the waterfall effect too

Thanks for the tips guy, my opening times have now changed, good spot @peter rogers!

Good points with regards to ratings, I'd like to do the same on my Google page to get me further up the ratings (I will post another topic with tips for that).

Would it be worth printing my details on a card and making an effort to give one to every customer?

I have started when I send the message (after they've commented on the link I've posted) I offer them to suggest a date which is convenient for them for a quote. Or I've said they could send me a picture of the front/sides and back of their house, and I can quote while in the message service with them.

Saves me going out and sorts out the wasters as well. Everyone has chosen the photo option and it works real well!

Today's results

-3 leads who will send me pictures tonight

-Quotation in Norwich city centre

I find Facebook pages brilliant I post on the for sale pages regularly and everytime with out fail I pick up at least 6 new customers. I tend to post 3 times a week and quote everything over messenger. I've built about 70% of my business from Facebook

Hello Mr. Bump, where you been?

I just had a message from FB saying I am banned from posting or joining groups until 9/12/15. Anyone else had this? May be because of spam?

I've tried appealing but nothin

thats a real bummer . not long to wait tho. did u keep adding friends who you didnt know and then askin them to like your page.

i found that if you do the paid ads a few times [that pop up on the sides ] you dont get banned as they want the money side of things

also theres nothin to stop u creatin a fake profile, use a diffrent email address - a chubby housewife , who keeps postin on the groups how shes found a great windie best ever and im really fussy arent i marjorie [ marj is another fake youve also created ] and wants to share the insider info ,lol

Bumpy?? You're alive!! Woo hoo!! WB.

Here's my question, I have two pages, my personal page for me that I can use to join groups etc and my business page that I can not seem to join groups etc with, so I am stuck as I do not with to use my personal page for pushing the business as this is really reserved for friends and family.

Tips? Suggestions?

^ you post on the groups as a person ,putting a link to your business page / or indeed your website in your post

Yes but then my personal page gets spammed with 'baby shoes for sale' 'have an avon party' 'i'm selling dirty old tat but going to tell you it's quality' and so on. /emoticons/sad.png

facebook is the unsung hero when it comes to raking in residential work. there is a learning curve [isnt there with everything] but once youve got to grips with it ,its easy peasy to get fresh work in on tap . one of the secrets is not to bang on and on about your business full on , better to post about the weather/ anything topical and then casually mention how it affects your business towards very end of post

well better you set up a fresh page then using a different email address [but still in your name] and use it for the purpose of linking only. might be a bit of a drag logging on 2 places tho

Ive been banned from groups a few days until 8th december, maybe fb is having a crack down on spam?

i havent dont anything other than posting loads of ads in groups as usual

Yeh they must be I tried joinING about 20 groups in a row other day on my gf account and it flagged up warning to slow down.

I can imagine this having a big effect on some businesses I know for myself without fb I wouldnt have half my round
