What new pole to buy

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I have gardiners and Phoenix and gardiners in my opinion is a better pole and medium flock lightweight brush
Scots, would be interested to know your opinion on why the Gardiners is better? Any particular reason, also what Phoenix pole do you have?

Just thought I'd add imho-

I use a Gardiner SLX-25, it is so light, super quick up and down and even fully extended I'm still amazed how rigid it is. Plus the customer service is really the best around-when you're spending money, you want to know that the product is backed by people who know what they are doing and who actually care-even after they've taken your hard earned dosh.

A chap I work with had a CLX-27 which he has just sold and bought an SLX-35 after seeing the difference between the rigidity and weight.

Anyway-at least in this job, whatever you get will pay for itself, but from my personal experience-Gardiner all the way.

My gardiner slx30 arrived yesterday from first impressions seems like a great pole. Can't wait to get out and use it on Monday

i am toying of the idea getting slx 25 or Phoenix 25.... reading all the old thread slx 25 seem to be the better deal money wise, free

brush head,gooseneck and rubber hose.

will the vikan brush fit ok on slx 25?

I would go with the slx mine came yestuday and comparing it to my Phoenix 25 it's by far a better pole and got the feeling it was less wippy that the Phoenix as well. I'm not sure if a Vikan brush would fit but the gardiner brushes seem really good so why not stick with that? They are really light as well

I ordered mine with the quick lock brush fitting not the screw on

Gardiner brushes are good but I find it lack scrubbing for my liking

I've never used gardiner or Vikan so I couldn't compare I've only ever used Phoenix pole with brush. Only started up a year ago looking forward to getting out on Monday with the new pole and brush

Let us know how u get on with it, I won't be ordering my till next year.
I Like to know if Slx 25 will reach dormer windows easily
My 25 Phoenix could reach 2/3 story dorma windows but some would be a stretch depending on how far back they where from the edge of the roof that's one reason why I got slx30 to make it slightly more of a comfortable reach

Used an slx 25 the last couple of days and it is a dream to use

It actually reaches as far as my fibreglass 30 as having no flex compared to the fibreglass one it reaches all the way instead of curving downwards

Use a few different gardiner brushes on it and definitely would bin the vikan and keep the gardiner ones @davewindowcleaner

Saying that i also used an extreme and that is the daddy of poles

Even after using slx the extreme felt so much lighter

I bet the extreme is good but the price of it is too much for me.

I don't want to try extreme anyway cos I know if I do I will want one. I bet u gonna get one now you had a go.

Slx 25 will do for now and it also come with a free brush so I will give gardiner brush another chance but I know it won't beat vikan for scrubbing power

Depends what brush mate

@Damo would know what ones but both the sill brushes i was using scrubbed great and i used them for 2 days with no issues with scrubbing power..i use a vikan flocked and that scrubs well but would still prefer the gardiners brush

And i absolutely love sill brushes now I've given them a go

Weird at first but great once used to them

And i also like the fan jets i tried

Fans with a low flow is what i am gonna try and am ordering a gardiners sill brush to use until i order an slx next month

Used my new slx 30 for the first time today and it's fantastic I really am going to enjoy working with this fantastic bit of kit the real test for it will be tomorrow when I do some 3 story work with it I can't wait

Is there any real feel of difference in weight between slx 25 and Slx 30.
If I'm honest I couldn't tell you as the slx 30 is the first gardener pole I've used only ever used facelift Phoenix. Just swapped from the Phoenix mk2 carbon to slx 30 and glad I did

Iv got 2 china carbon poles and a slx. The slx is the shortist of the 3 but it would be more ridged foot for foot than the china poles of that im sure. Iv just got a new contract for 3 blocks of flats only 3 storey monthly so couple of cleans in the new year and new 35-39 slx for me.
