who's hitting the gym now the festive period is over?

The gym guys will understand this
If i have had a while off the gym i really suffer with soreness (doms) for a few days until i get back into it

Very very sore at the moment and struggled to do my work today

Anyone got any helpfull tips to sort it??
Part of the process I'm afraid

Even after years of training if I take a rest period my body aches for couple of days once the muscles get used to training will go way!

Legs are the worst carny walk for days!!!

I've just got back davey in full on bulk mode feel awful and heavy

Even a small break is a killer @Eviestevie

I've hammered the squats and deadlifts

My arms, chest and back are sore but my legs are agony

Went first thing this morning to "just stretch my muscles a bit"

Ended up on the leg press for a proper session again and then some upper body stuff like skullcrushers etc

Now i feel i could cry lol

I'll be alright once i adjust again but i never usually feel this bad

cheapy is hunting for the comedian who shrunk his kit belt by two inches over the xmas break.....I got to work for ten thirty and spent ten minutes trying to untangle the knot so the belt would fit .....

Legs are my favourite body part to train

As usual I'm always wide awake and alert after gym

So looks like a film to early hours now!!

I like to go before i do my days work usually

Then i am raring to go and don't usually ache until i finish and get home

Legs are my favourite

Am trying to do squats daily for a month at the mo

Bit of a kickstart for my metabolism and growth

Well, turns out Judo is hard as fuark:eek:

Loved it,but my fitness or lack thereof was appalling, and that was supposedly and easing back into it session. Great bunch of lads though when they weren't throwing me on the floor./emoticons/biggrin.png

Hi mate, I've done judo for a few years, done tournaments etc, has this been your first time?

Hello mate, yes first session. I Did a lot of muay thai in my 20s, a bit of traditional ju jitsu, and a bit of MMA, but no real grappling or throwing skills speak of. I was expecting to be stuck in the corner learning breakfalls and the old hip throw, but after a bit of footwork drills we were straight into some decent throwing. Maybe you can help me mate as I have no idea what they were called. Both were over the shoulder type throws you associate with judo- one you hooked under the arm and kind of squeezed with your bicep, and the other you wer throwing while gripping the lapel? I could do with finding them on youtube for a few pointers.

Haha nice one, I've always enjoyed doing it. You might wanna check out sassaki judo on YouTube as he's really good at explaining with great videos too. Judo might not be the hardest fighting sports out there but it's definitely effective and unpredictable. Glad you liked it

I know a black belt in judo who i wouldn't argue with and i definitely can have a go due to boxing and krav and i know it is a very good defence system but i still can't help thinking it looks like scuffling lol

Cheers I'll check it out. Its a great sport, wish I got into it sooner. Do you not fancy getting back into it?

Once you get over the pyjama image it really is a brutal martial art.

Not really at the moment as I've just started my own company and dont have enough time at the moment, going gym and judo would be too much. And I'm working quite long days on my own at the moment so I'm dead once im home haha

Hit the gym today for the 1st time in years.....**** my reversing is **** I'll have to get some parking sensors...

I haven't been to the gym for years, I used to work fitness first but imo it a waste of money paying to be a member when you can just saved yourself a lot of money buying a home gym weights

I lift weights at home and there a nice free park not too far from me where I can go for a jog for free.

Last time i was seriously into the weights thats the route i went.

Power rack and olympic weight set in the spare room. none of this isolation work, just heavy compound lifts, simple, could be done in under 30 mins a time
