HI guys

my first winter working as most of you know, things going great with the help of a good friend and fellow window cleaner Kev who has helped a lot and given me work...... loving it and clod doesn't really bother me but just wondered what temperature do you guys not clean in using wfp? or does it make no difference ? was thinking of water freezing outside property or on glass issues etc

be grateful of advice ? is there a temp cut off point for this process etc? cheers

Top tip. Take an extra flask of warm water to pour on the brush jets if they freeze. Minus 3 roughly the water starts freezing at the bottom of the glass

Its only my 2nd winter so ive not known it bad enough to stop me. it freezes overnight so might need to do some de frosting in the morning but day temps are about 2-4 degrees where i am so shouldnt cause a problem in use.

Temperature doesnt worry me, just have a few spare pairs of gloves in the van, spare pair of boots and socks in case. the body doesnt get cold really, sweating like a pig at the speed i go most of the time.

It's only my second winter too. I was trad last winter and had some days when the water from the applicator was freezing as soon as it touched the glass.

i had my hoses freeze but once thawed out no problem. The solution is to run the system dry when finished. not much chance of freezing 500l tank unless its below freezing for a prolonged period. more worried about my R.O in the shed

Just been to also & got a lovely workplace body warmer for £12 & 2 pairs of workwear jogging bottoms especially for outdoor work for £8 each. Hopefully be warm tomorrow

You will find that conservatories freeze up more than house Windows . Trad them with warm not hot - but be very quick !

When my hands get cold I just give them a nice rinse at the rear van ports, lovely hot water steaming out soon warms them up again.

Chilblains - a painful, itching swelling on a hand or foot, caused by poor circulation in the skin when exposed to "cold"

I find the hot water helps my circulation greatly

Or exposed to the hot to quickly. The blood vessels near the surface of the skin can't always handle the increased blood flow :specs

Perhaps if extreme enough temp changes, but as were not in siberia, and I'm not running my hands under near boiling water I reckon I'm safe there haha! Really loving the colder weather as the steam coming from the windows as I'm cleaning them is getting the neighbours wanting theres done :specs

Yep, agree trev. Been very grateful of my hot water system this week, especially handling the hoses. They wind in and out easier when warm, and of course they warm your hands up lovely

you know when its to cold to work wfp;jets freeze, the bristles on your brush freeze.window ledges freeze straight away.as already mentioned-conservatories can be nightmare as they don't get enough heat & freeze straight away.its a good idear to have another string in your bow & learn to trad!!!in some cases what you carnt clean wfp in bad weather you can get away with it cleaning trad.neat screen wash on your applicator or in my case wagtail.also screen wash highly concentrated in your bucket.i would use loads of pre filled empty washing up bottles already dosed with screen wash, pure water & ecover.sometimes though you have to admit defeat which isn't easy!!!
