hey guys so i am a traditional window cleaner but the other day i come across a women's flat which the council pay once a year to clean but she likes our monthly approach, and her flat had been cleaned using the WFS and honestly it does amaze me, but i am the one who is always doing tops. there is only 2 of us and its family run but my partner don't think the WFS is any good as he is stuck in his ways.

i personally want to buy the trolly WFS system and get some practice with it and prove its well worth the £500 and can help us year more money.

i will also buy the whole R/O pureifer as well. i want to use 25L barrel. with a pipe which has a trigger thing. i know it won't last long maybe 2 or 3 houses just doing the tops. but i had say 5 of them for a 4 hour day then it might work

what i am asking is has anyone got this system and uses it every day.

harvest rain water, buy a 11 ltr di and process your own,diy or buy a back pack for less than a ton and buy a cheap pole or harris pole.you don't need to shell out £500 if your not sure.thats why ebay is full of **** that people couldn't make a go of it.

View attachment 6345 Don't buy a trolley system. Save yourself some money and get one of the backpacks and put it on a sack barrow. Total cost for mine was around £160 once I'd bought fittings etc. That doesn't include pole and brush though.

sorry green pro what i ment what the council pay another window cleaning company who uses the wfs. i only have traddinal window cleaning stuff. i do like that idea with that trolly

View attachment 6346 This is my version..cheap as chips

Pump and battery in grey box

No need to buy a backpack for 105 quid delivered. .although i am going to buy one anyway

30m of hose then 30m of pole hose fits on there perfectly

Hi Slipknot, I have a trolley system which i use for domestic work and it works well. Ok there are issues with changing the 25 ltr barrels if your van isnt nearby but its real handy to just pull it along and get working. I can sometimes clean 2 semi detached houses on a barrel if reguar customers. Your partner should definitly rethink his views on wfp;)

If your partner doesn't like wfp @slipknot then you are never going to win them over. Branch out on your own and leave them to their ways. Working with family has many challenges.

Hi Adams, I've got the purefreedom trolley with 10mtrs of hose, could do with more on a reel like urs, say 30mtrs. Is that just a garden hose reel with ? Size Hose on it. Thanks

Yep. Just a mini garden hose reel with 6mm id hose.

Hi Slipknot, I bought the Gardiner Backpack like the one above. I started using it only to access the windows I couldn't reach off my ladders as my water supply was limited. To answer your question about how many houses, I would estimate if you WFP the upstairs and trad the bottoms then a full backpack should do at least ten average houses. I just did my house, up and down 12 windows and patio doors, used about five litres.

How do you do 12 windows with 5 litres??

How much do you use to rinse?

Full 22l backpack for 10 houses

Average house has at least 4 upstairs windows so 10x4=40

22l ÷ 40 = 0.55l per window

A window usually has 2 or 3 pieces of glass

So under quarter of a litre for each piece of glass

Wish i could work like that as i could do 1,545 and a half houses with an 850l tank

This is what I know. I brimmed my Gardiner backpack Friday. I don't usually WFP my own house because I don't make my own water, I have a friend that supplies me for gratis and I don't want to take liberties hassling him for water every few days. Because I don't make my own water or check the TDS or see the dried results on customers houses every so often I do my own to see the finished results. So Friday I cleaned my own, I start at the top, do the frames, then go up and down the glass then side to side from top to bottom, then I lift the brush off and rinse from top to bottom then I do the cill. When I'd finished it looked like I'd used about a quarter of the water in the backpack, by my estimation 5 litres. I checked the results in the daylight next morning, perfect, no water marks so I'm happy with my supplier. How did I achieve this with so little water, I don't know, I was just doing what I always do, maybe your pressure is much higher than mine and you pump out a lot more water. That's the only explanation I can think of.

I guestimated ten upstairs because if I could do four houses with one fill than ten upstairs only should be achievable as there is usually more glass downstairs.

If that is working then good luck mate

I am quick and have low flow but i have also had days when 2 of us can use 850l in a day with around 30-40 houses

I wish i could use that little water

I popped out this morning to do a couple of flats before I go out for the day with the wife and I used about 35 litres for two one-bed flats. They were filthy though.

To try to get a bit more of an accurate estimate of what to expect from a full backpack I filled mine today and did the upstairs on 2 X £20 houses and 4 X £15 houses. That pretty well emptied the backpack but one of the windows was above a conservatory that had never been cleaned before. I gave the brush a spray of Virosol before that one was cleaned and used a lot more water than normal.

When cleaners work from a tank in the van does the water flow get turned off between windows or does it keep on running until you return to the van?

It depends on your setup

I work with a tap by the brush with my trolley and work the same when i work with Damo and his van mount

The water is on just long enough to extend the pole and clean the tops then collapse the pole and turn off

Uses minimal water in the time it takes to exend and collapse the pole
