WCF

Help Support WCF:

Yo green guy !

That was washed quickly

Then hypo

30 mins then washed and turbo nozzle where needed

All with a little karcher £199

am thrashing it's balls off till it konks out !

Did it effect the grass on the other side?Really want to use hypo, but this stuff going on the grass even if just rinsing with a hose bothers me.
If your worried then water it down and try it at home first

It's only been a problem when I used it neat

usually give it a soaking with hose spray hypo on then leave then go back 30 mins later and it shud wash off

if u have a better powerwasher ie 15lpm + uel be doing jobs very fast

Im pretty sure I read in one of these threads before that animals can't walk on paths patio's ect till they have dried if hypo has been used is that correct.

Not so sure that true

Some farmers actually use hypo to clean animals down in a diluted form

It has many uses

Hypo is not some dreadful chemical although some people seem scared to use it,certain chemicals and weed killers you have to a licence to use/including chemical sprayers

Anyway regarding grass the area should be wetting down with a hose first and the surrounding borders then apply hypo

Let it soak for the required time and then I on fine spray rinse the area from edges of drive to the middle so away from the grass

Most of the hypo at this point is soaking in between the paving

Never pressure wash a surface that as been hypo'd as the pressure blasts it everywhere including on you instead of it soaking down into the paving

I was dubious when first starting using but it's like anything even sealing a drive just be careful and take your time

Not so sure I'd try this but actually a farmer was telling me they use to bath in it when the foot and mouth crisis was about

Odvoiusly very diluted and apparently it does wonders for your skin if have eczema etc

I like the stuff but there is no way I'll be bathing in it lol

Wonder if Michael Jackson bathed in it???/emoticons/smile.png

I'm one of those people you speak of, ie, a bit scared to use it. I work on a lot of very flash houses where the gardens are manicured to perfection. The thought of ruining their precious plants and perfect grass is a bit worrying.

However, seeing some of the results with this stuff, I'm going for it!

I work on nice property's too Steve - my wife says she used to clean horse stables out with sodium hypo chlorite

I got some in my eye when doing a roof but I dint go blind ( as I shat myself jumped down and rinsed quick ! )

ALTHOUGH did you know by law your not meant to just let hypo soak away into drain ?

Sodium hypochlorite is used in swimming pools for disinfection (chlorine!) so is pretty safe to bathe in when diluted! We use 10-15% which is the same as what you guys use I believe. If you are not sure about how safe it is to use then I would advise you to read the very boring MSDS associated with whatever strength you use. I have the 'pleasure' in risk assessing all the chemicals we use at the school I work at (which has a pool). The up side is I have unlimited use of the chemicals to do experiments with! All I can say is

1. Keep hypo away from anything acidic - when mixed together they reduce Chlorine gas, which can clear a town.

2. Keep it away from metal as much as possible - it is extremely corrosive to aluminium.

3. Don't advertise that you let it 'soak' away naturally if you use a lot of it - we had to get permission from the environment agency when the fire brigade drained our pool. It is labelled as 'very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects'.
