hello guys .

I've just joined the forum,I am 66yrs old I've been cleaning windows for 20yrs, I am in the process of selling 2 thirds of my round and keeping a third so I can have a bit more time for myself .

I am going to have a go at water fed for some of the work and the rest trad, I've got myself a Gardiners V3 backpack , a Handy trolley solid with big wheels,an Xline 22ft 3K Carbon pole , ultra light brush ,the hoses & fittings ,7 litre DI vessel, 10 litres of resin .

The pole was expensive at £350 but I thought I don't want to be put off WFS by starting off with a cheap heavy pole , plus the taxman is paying for it anyway(LOL)

My mate who has 650 litre van system is giving me is old pure freedom trolley it looks like the guts in it might be knackered , what do you guys recommend I should replace the guts with( pump, battery, control panel)the trolley and wheels are ok.

Cheers guys.

Glenn.

Hi glenn ! Welcome to the forum !/emoticons/smile.png I wouldt know about your trolley , never had one as im doing fine with my van Mount . Sure the other guys Can give great advice !

I would get on ebay

There are plenty of cheap pumps etc on there from china

Takes about 2 weeks delivery but you can get a couple of pumps for about 12-14 quid each and the other bit cheap

Then you have spares also

I'm sure @jimmyboots could post a few links as he knows what's what on ebay

And welcome to the nuthouse mate

Welcome glen. What do you mean by 'the guts'?
Read your post wrong, sorry. Some of the guys on here use cheap pumps from e.bay which seem fine enough. I personally like to over engineer things and just go for the best. I have a 100 psi shurflo pump in my trolley connected to a Varitech digital controller. I run it at 50, so its only running at half its capacity instead of reving its bol1ocks off. Anyway good luck

Thanks for the welcome & info lads.

I will be checking a few things out on e bay over the next few days and decide which way to go,budget or the best gear like Steve suggests,it would be interesting to see what jimmyboots comes up with?

I did three twenty pounders today with the backpack, and some offices inside & out traditional, I've been practicing with the pole on my own pad I think I've got it right

It saves the old knees from the ladder that's for sure , it's just a case of educating the custys from trad to water fed, luckily I've had these custys for 20 years and they trust me (more like friends than custys)I had almost 300 custys x6wks plus 2 blocks of flats & offices, but I'm in the process of selling 200 plus to my mate he's only a youth 44 yr old LOL.

Anyway off to bed now early start tomorrow.

Cheer lads.

66 and dabbling in WFP  If you ain't got aches now, you will have /emoticons/biggrin.png
Don't worry tuffers I've been through the pain barrier many timesLOL if it gets too bad I'll drop back on the ladders!

You gotta remember I'm an old dog!

Cheers bud.

Quick thought, if you're selling 2/3's of your round now and you'll no longer need employees (that's if you had them beforehand!) remember to tell your insurance company as it could shave off some money without the need for employers' liability /emoticons/smile.png

If you never had employees in the first place ignore the above, but thought I'd comment just in case

@Hollie2021 halfway down the first page on this thread there is a list of links to cheap pump..battery..and others
Homemade alternative to backpack.
Thanks Daveyboy ,I have got the pure freedom trolley today of my mate I am going to take it to bits this weekend and see if any of the bits work and then see where I go from there, the pump and the control panel might be ok,the battery will be knackered, if this is the case then I will have to source a new battery/charger.

Cheers mate thanks for the link.

Welcome mate, you will love the 22ft pocket Xline pole, i use it as my daily pole, super light and very firm, its so good I can use it on a near horizontal angle fully out if needed for some difficult reach work.

New to WFP you need this fella regardless of age. /emoticons/wink.png

Thanks simply business,I did have my nephew with me and did have him named on my policy , but his knee went pop about 9 months ago,I have since renewed my policy with just me and the wife named on the policy, she does an odd day with me when l have inside cleans, plus she is a partner in the business.

With the nephew out of action I found it hard going keeping the round to every 6 weeks,so that was the main reasons I decided to let some of the go before it slipped into a couple of months.

Cheers mate.
